Must be summer, busy here
I didnt' have time to go motoring this morning before work.
Ohh well. Clouds are looming overhead and its supposed to thunderstorm later today. Gotta keep and eye out cause the top is down.
So many people at work ask me about the gas mileage that Im getting these days. Two more people did just now. I always start with the 2G MINIs gas mileage since its better than what Im getting.

This should go away after your first wash post-BW. It really is a function of the applicator, rubbing and humidity as well as if you are grounded well while applying the product. Rest assured that it will go away after the wash and they will still look great (sans dust).
during my drive this am, i turned on the stereo in my MCS for the
first time in a few months...
it sounded werd... so i changed the settings around and sure enough
im getting intermittent static from the passenger door.
i changed modes (aux, fm, cd, cd-x) and found that it was only
in the CD changer mode that it was doing this.
so either my
changer is dead or the blitzsafe module is fried.

motored my G this AM, tried out the CG-Lock. not bad. i had it on too
tight at first and it was like
, but i loosened it a tad and it felt good.
i think the trick to using it on street is just slightly snug, but not too snug.
it supported me well through some tighter turns.
QD'ed the car when i got home and washed both dd's, spot hydro'ed.
my wife's been going downtown and parking at some valet place at
her client's building. this a-hole's been putting greasy finger print smears
all over the inside of the glass on the driver door.
(legacy has a
frame-less window like the MINI's).

I clayed & de-swirled the Pilot on Friday. The clear bra guy came over yesterday and installed the film on the hood, bumpers, headlights and door cups. He recommended against doing the fog lights - too hot. The guy worked his a$$ off and did a great job. I put on Epic yesterday afternoon. This morning - did I ever say how awesome black is; and with Epic it is phenomenal.
I have a POS Saturn to do today. It should be a stunning transformation.

Happy Birthday to your G!
Been doing a lot of house 'detailing.' Powerwashed the patio, cleaned the siding, water-sealed the wooden steps and fences, etc, etc, etc!
That CG lock looks interesting, Ken. I just might get one too for my MINI's birthday in October.
On the MINI front, I got some spatter on my driver's side door and back panel---don't know where or how. They are a lot of whitish tiny spots. I tried claying them but nothing. They came off the lower black trim with a little fingernail action but they seem to be stuck on more tenaciously on the paint.
I took out a 20x hand lens and they look like some epoxy
They look resin-like with tiny bubbles in them. I am surprised they don't come off since I have a good layer of wax/sealant. Help?

gave her a nice detail this morning after my drive; just quick spot clay and wax (Best of Show), finished with SprayOn wax.
looks fantastic.
also did some extra cleaning on the lower panels, clarity'ed the glass,
slick/hydro'ed the wheels.
not bad for a quick 4hr job.
hope your house detailing goes well too.
yah, the CGLock is a nice thing to have. i like it. i can concentrate
more on my driving than supporting my body through higher g cornering.
OK, thanks. Will try that. Not sure if I can get to it today, but I'll let yo know what works (if) when I'm done.
Just got back from a weekend trip to the Poconos to a water park. Had a great time !
Anybody miss me ??
Chuck, looks like you're becoming at peace with your black SUV.
I'm telling you, it's the best color for an OCDetailer. Not only does it tell you when it needs to be washed, polished, or waxed, but when you do so, there's no greater sense of satisfaction than there is with black paint.

Finished the Saturn. I only had four hours to work on it so I got the wheels, clayed, polished but not well, Amigo and the Epic. It was night and day different - very satisfying if not perfect. She was happy.
As for the black Pilot, I still think it is going to drive me nuts, but it looks so good when clean. Honda paint is very hard and I had a difficult time removing the swirls. Ended up using Swirl on an orange pad and worked it a long time. Almost went to cut, but decided to just work it a bit longer. Amigo finished it out nicely and Epic on it looks fantastic. The paint has quite an orange peal to it so not glass like finish but very nice.

I had someone coming to take a look at my current car that I'm selling on Friday, so I used some of my new products on it. Gave it a quick wash followed by Hydro which was pretty impressive. The Black Wow really helped on some of the trim, really made the car pop. The guy ended up liking it a lot and if all goes well I think he'll buy it.
Anyways, after I was done I noticed that I'd used almost a quarter of the bottle of Hydro. I did do the whole car (other than windows) with it. Is this normal? If so, I guess I'll be needing a gallon of it sometime in the near future.

Even including the windows, you don't need nearly that much.
Don't pull that trigger all the way when you're spraying it. Spritz it on there by giving it a quick, half pull on the trigger as you go around the car. And one spritz on each panel is plenty. A bottle of Hydro should last you about 15 to 20 washings.
