Must be summer, busy here
I like the wheels.
While at MITM there was a MCC Chilli Red from Missouri almost like mine except no stripes and with painted arches. Look great! Plus they did not do just CR on the arches they did a kind of CR w/ black dots almost like an overspray pattern - hard to describe but it looked really good. So since I was contemplating the same I really looked hard for chips or scratches - none whatsoever. And no clearbra material either.

Jughead, yeah, one main reason I selected those rims was the ease of cleaning. OCDetailers disease comes into play here.
Chuck, now you've gone and made my decsion much tougher !! I might have to do both of these mods now.

ken, was that post so important you had to say it all twice ?
And I bet your gray lettering turns back to white when they dry. Sorry ! Probably just look that way while they're wet.
Okay... guys... help me decide how to spend some money. I'm thinking of three different ways to spend some. Two of them involve the JB MCSC, one of them involves my CR Cooper.
1. New wheels for the convertible. The OEM ones are the S-Lites. They are a little beat up from the previous owner, some curb rash and scratches. Plus, they don't show off the red calipers. So... thinking of these:

Offset: 42mm Backspacing: 5.65" Bolt Pattern: 4-100
Rec. Tire Size: 205/45-17
Weight: 15.0lbs.
2. Also for the convertible, as I discussed about a week ago.... JCW CAI and 15% sc pulley. Would enjoy the extra HP but we don't drive the convertible all that much and when we do, it's normally together and my SO already gets pissed at me when I exercise that supercharger a little "too much".
3. On my CR Cooper... I've been complaining in another thread about that blasted plastic trim around the wheels and the polish marks that I can't get off. I'm thinking about just replacing it. But hey, while I'm replacing the plastic trim, why not get it painted CR body color ??
Would look nicer, and I wouldn't have to worry about taping it off any more.
So, what do you think ?
New wheels ?
JCW CAI and 15% SC Pulley ?
New body color trim ?

They look similar to the Konig Again 4's, which IMO are the sweetest looking rims out there! Dr. Phil G has them...ahhh...drool.

As for the 15%/CAI, you wouldn't have to be working the midrange as much with more power...tell her that and see how far it gets you.
My detailing appt was successful today. The car was a white Accord with 120K on it, but it was actually in good condition. Then I CPR'd the leather of the MCS and vacuumed the interior while I had it out.
These look great! Thanks for the advice with the touch up paint btw.

And if I told my SO what you said... it would get me a deer-in-the-headlights look and a "huh??".
She doesn't really get RPMs or a Tach.
thailand im sure it's consumable.
hey, my SPARCO is back white again as you said...
hummmm... looks like the wife's not going to be home with the kids
for at least another hr or so.... i think im going to sears and look at
some 4 drawer intermediates...
im out of space in my tool case.

When i was in Japan, I saw people eating things that I couldn't even identify.
Yeah... I'm right every now and then.
humm.... came home from sears and didn't see the intermediate i
wanted.
i think im going to have to buy online and do a pick-up.
but then who the hell trusts sear.com after all the crap i went through
last week?

and i decided to pull out my rotary tool with a wire brush and clean off
all the rust on the pliers, etc. and oiled them all.
will use these
a little longer. they look new now.

Yeah, I've been drooling and thinking about those wheels for about a month now. Pretty sure I'm going to pull the trigger on them soon.

What do you guys think about what I should do for snow tires? It's on a JCW, so I either need to buy a set of rims that will fit with the brakes (which I hear may be tough) or just swap the rubber on the factory challenge-spoke wheels twice a year?
I should probably do some calculating to see how long I'd have to be swapping tires before buying a second set of wheels would be worth it. Any ideas how much it'd cost to swap the tires?

So I tackled the touch up paint last night and it was pretty difficult. The brush that comes with the paint is stupidly large. I used a make-up q-tip that has a pointed end, which is great because it absorbs the paint a tad so you don't apply too much. I had 3 crater-sized chips that were hard to fill, one on the top of the bonnet and two more around the headlight. I got to see them better this morning and I did a pretty good job but the surface isn't quite smooth. I basically clayed the front of the bonnet so that when I do the rest of the car this afternoon I won't have to worry about messing the paint up.

There's one in my town that makes orange wheels look Godly.
Gonna wash/hydro Blimey (illegally) and get my new Nitto Neo Gen's installed tomorrow. Last night I switched my front brake pads from CarboTech Bobcats to CarboTech AX6's and bedded them in. First post-bed-in drive today - OMG!
It's unreal how much bite these things have when you stomp on it... the Bobcats were very good I thought compared to stock and the Hawk ceramics I ran previously... but these AX6 pads, the difference is night and day. When you stand on these things, the car STOPS. Like you hit a wall. I was able to get the ABS to kick in before (eventually)... so I thought my previous pads were pushing it to the limit. Apparently not...
I was planning to just run these pads for my mountain run and track parade lap weekends, and run the bobcats the rest of the time for less dust... but I dunno... I'm gonna get addicted to these pads... feels like I put P-car brakes on.... I still think they're gonna dust a lot less than the OEM pads... I'll just have to slick my wheels every couple of days... no biggie.... worth it for how awesome these things stop... Just gotta watch my rearview and make sure there's nothing behind me when I lay into these things, or I'll have an SUV **** probe.
Oh yeah - and I plan to polish out my new rollbar covers and get them installed (finished clearcoating them yesterday). I'll post pics.

Also have a crab and beer party to go to tomorrow night.
Busy weekend !
Tomorrow I work then have a Black MDX to detail. Apparently another local detailer messed it up and put swirls all through it. Sunday I was supposed to be putting a new tensioner on my MCS, but the price went up from, about 50 last saturday to 199 today. Why the difference in price I asked them, they had no idea. So, I will be helping a friend of mine put his Koni Coilovers on.
Blimey - you'll like the Nittos. I replace my runflats with them and really liked them. I'm testing the Coopers now, but the Nittos are in the garage waiting.
So I got home at noon and spent 8 hours detailing the MINI for a car show tomorrow. It wasn't too bad to begin with so I just did a pass with Amigo and then Epic. Detailed the inside, the engine bay and wheels. I also painted the muffler with a flat black header paint (VHT paint good for 1200 deg F). Looks better then the plain metal.
This show is grouped by decades so we'll see how it goes.
