Well, I suppose I could change it. My degree is in International Business. Ultimate goal is to work in translation or as an interpreter. I figure I'd be translating business documents or something. It is always helpful to understand the subject matter when translating.

Sounds good. My bro is a engineering manual translator contracted by major corporations in Japan.

ML- I think I found the setting to make the Torch touch panel function correctly. Use 100, 100, high.

Mywife studied international relations with similar intent
She ended up getting sidetracked in international law and then design, but I use translators all the time in my profession, and contextual cultural familiarity IS a great resource. Knowing the culture of the language country and the context of the documents really helps with the translation accuracy.
Good luck!

yep, you need to know the culture, otherwise you'll sound like this:

typical japanese translation of awesome smokin' charburger and cheeze fries into English:

"Oh boy! This hamburger is very very delicious!" they all start to sound like new-halfs.

k, so i got the new 20mm spacers all installed ready to go for tomorrow's drive in the G (rear wheels). letting the loctite blue cure over night.

so i have kics, eibach, and this new ichiba brand spacers. these all have new studs built into the spacers. as far as quality eibach is very clean and super light weight. kics is obviously very well made, but considerably heavier than the eibach and the hubcentric ring is sold separately. ichiba's not sure... they look like pos made at some local villager garage in china. anyway, they seem to be durable per many reviews so will give them a shot this time.

next time im definitely going to get my usual kics/eibach's for sure.

pressured up my tires on my G and Z, ordered another set of flat stoppers for my G's tires.

i cut my finger on the cheezo pos black&decker air pump compressor thingie while clamping down the hose to the valve stem. it bled and bled and bled and bled until i went through like 20 bandages and it finally stopped. but it did not affect my piano playing so that was good...

i also installed a new OS (.246) on my bb torch this am and it seems to have maybe fixed the touchpanel lock-up/incorrect registration issue i was having.

I can type now with no issue!

taking care of the kids today since my wife had to work and our park district daycare is closed...

anyway, motored my Z early am. was a good cool/almost cold drive. also installed new 20mm spacers in the back (was 15mm). so 20mm added front and rear. will test drive it tomorrow am before we head over to the sat school for a PTA conference thing.

Went to the stores this pm and took my older kid along. He's into dumptrucks and all sorts of construction stuff. not sure why or how he got into this stuff.

anyway...there was a GTR driving next to us on the way and so told him to check it out. He showed absolutely no interest and continued to talk about the dump truck on the other side of the car.

im not sure if this is really my kid.

Oh wellz.

just a follow up on using 4oz of Griot's MF and Pad Cleaner + detergent in the wash cycle. thing really works!!!

my 4yr old MF Platinums are now super soft like new. so happy.
dont bother with vinegar, just use this stuff.

i decided to use a couple tea spoons in every wash since and it's kept my MF towels real nice. it absorbs QD like new again. highly recommended.

9 posts in a row, huh? Is it time to start in the "must be winter" thread?

knowing the culture for translation = good
spacers sound neat. They had a good impact on my car.
cut finger on the cheezy poofs bag = bad
piano playing... do you compose songs or something? Have any recordings? I wish I had talent.
day off, spent goofing off?
your kid love dump trucks, most do, I'd imagine.
laundry, good tip with the microfiber wash, I've never washed mine, that is probably bad.

I should wash my car... I think it has been more than 5 months. But thanks to my Turtle Wax, water still beads and UV is still blocked.

*bump*

As it *is* summer again...

Josie got a half a detail today...washed the whole car using the spray bottle foamer. Worked well! Clayed the front half, need to do the boot tomorrow and we'll be ready for wax. It's 95 out and I was dripping sweat so I called it for the day.
