Must be summer, busy here
not really shriveled but the part i wrapped with quite a bit of stretching relaxed and it un-did itself in some areas. the areas that i didn't stretch to wrap was fine.
3M tested it up to 150F for 28days they say, but under the hood temps can go much higher so i had my doubts. when i measured the cover right after the drive it was about 165F... (oil temp 210F) thought i could get away.

so RJ- how was that trip to Griot'sGarage?
after peeling off all the 3M CF film, i noticed permanent damage to the surface of the engine cover which i could not remove with cleaners... seems like the adhesive changed properties and just stained the plastic.
so sanded it down, shot it with some engine enamel primer and matte black. looks stock again.

3hr power nap sounds good.
hope you kick that cold in the butt.
my older son was at the park with grandpa and got stung by 5 yellowjackets.
apparently he accidentally kicked a nest that was under a field picnic table when he sat down.
he's okay but crap he could've died if more swarmed on him.
grandpa just grabbed the kid and ran, called my wife.

At least grandpa pulled him away fast enough.
Similar story, I was removing one of our window shutters to replace it the other day and I got most of the screws out and saw that there were 5 yellow jacket/wasps or something coming out from behind it. So I left the shutter half down. I get localized swelling with bites, even if mosquitoes bite me. A bee or wasp causes the whole limb to swell up.
I got stung on my hand once and it swelled up so much that I couldn't bend or move any finger, all creases in the skin were gone, the hand was frozen in the natural curve, and each finger was 2-3 times the diameter of the other hand's fingers. Notable swelling reached my shoulder. No throat swelling though.

nabeshin- wow, that's pretty crazy. ive gotten stung once by a bumble bee and man it was super painful. i didnt swell up much though.
i think im done with this CF wrapping on my car for now.
im going to get me a exhaust pretty soon for the Z and that will probably end the mods for this yr.

It was FUN Ken...didn't want to leave. I should have let them know I was coming, I could have gotten a CDL (Car Detailing Lesson)!!
Gotz some stuff while I was there, and ordered more 'cause it wasn't in stock.
Best part...they ship FREE if you order in Store!!
Sorry about the Kids Stings...no fun at all!!
Glad Grandpa thought fast enough to get them both out of there!!
Mel...sorry about the Cold, Summer Colds are worse because it's supposed to be Sunny outside, but you don't feel so Sunny being STUCK inside.
Nabeshin...how scary, glad you didn't have the Throat close up part.
I've only been stung once, by a Yellow Jacket that I brushed off my pants, just hurt is all.

RJ-
sounds like fun. good deal that they do free shipping!
i always thought griot's ship/handling was a rip-off.
... but i keep buying from them.
they are like a candy store... we know it's bad for us, but we keep coming back.
thanks for the thoughts, yah, the sad part was my older kid was good this morning so it was suppose to be his treat to go to the park with grandpa... oh wellz. now he will have more respect for bees...and understand why i run like hell when i spray their nests with RAID WASP NEST TERMINATOR.

Google has lost me as a user. They have gotten too bloated, adding so much more crap that no one ever needed. I want the classic Google circa 2003.
The new image search is unfathomable to anyone who screens websites before entering them. I used to scroll down through images and look at the URLs and any text describing the image to see if it did indeed match what I wanted. But now you have to hover over each image to see any of the stuff that is actually useful. Worse yet, when you click on an image it simply shows you that image again and not the actual website. Until you click out of it.
I'll be using Alta Vista for now, until I can figure something out, perhaps a hack of some sort to disable Java for Google.

Well looks like there may be another car to Detail in our house soon!!
Durango doesn't count, it's going Bye Bye!!
We found 2 (in the Region) 2010 Kia Soul Shadow Dragon that Hubby has been dying to get his hands on!!
Kia's got some good incentives going on right now and the $$ doesn't look to bad either!!

Yep, well in 1-2 weeks a 2010 Kia Soul Shadow Dragon Special Edition will be parked in the Garage next to Molly!!
We were at the Dealership until 9PM last night, with a New Finance Manager who had us come back today to fill out the Final Paperwork, only to find out that 25% of what we signed last night had to be resigned, due to a printer error that they cannot explain.
They did give us most of what I wanted for our Trade (Sianara '01 DD), I averaged the Fair to Good Condition on both NADA and Kelly Blue Book, the average came out to $3375, they gave us $2950 for the Trade In, even though we looked at 3 Vehicles and ended up purchasing a car that they have to bring up from CA.
They've kept the Durango (Bye Bye) and gave us a New
2010 Kia Soul! to drive while we wait for the Soul to be transported to WA from CA.

I like your definition of "done with car mods for a while"

Very cool of them to do, most dealers I know of would make you drive the trade in until the new car arrived and then try and drop the trade value a little more. Any photos of the one on it's way (even just Kia's sakes photos) I'm trying to place it in relation to if it's anything I saw at the autoshow this year or on the road (Kia Soul's are quite popular in the relatively short release time locally)
