I just finished washing / Hydro'ing Blimey after the 925 mile weekend drive. Which included 400 miles in the mountains. Which included at least 200 miles of legitimate twisties. Which included 3 laps on the Dragon. Which included one run from the Deal's Gap store to Tabcat Bridge in 15 minutes. Which requires a flux capacitor. I boiled my Super Blue 3 minutes from the end.

The verdict on the Carbotech AX6 pads is that they are AWESOME street pads for performance driving. But they're dusty as hell. I will buy a set of rears and use them for all my mountain trips. But I pulled my front wheels, cleaned them, bled my brakes and put my Bobcats back on for daily driving. Nice and clean and back to "daily show car" setup now.

^^ sounds good. cool that you swap brakes according to app.
looks like you had a great time.

...so, i finally got around to clean the basement... just waiting for
trash day on Friday this week. i have 4 large garbage bags full of
boxes, stuff i wont use, etc. one huge catback box worth of boxes that
were folded inside. most of them were griot's boxes. LOL

I'm pretty sure UPS paid Griot's NOT to install a conveyor belt to your house.

Crap. I've got about 8 days of work to cram into 4 days this week. And gotta be in Salt Lake all week next week. Which is completely bringing me down from my Dragon run buzz.

But, on another note, my kickazz strut bar FINALLY ships today! I hope I get lucky and see it this week...

dang, that's a lot of work. might be a good time to carry around a
blackberry. then you can work on your emails while you're
sleeping.

motoring the MCS was fun. they finally started construction in the last
part of my morning drive... the sign said "RoadWork Starts 8/18/08, Expect Delays"
it hadn't started until this am... lots of delay as expected.

ordered some heavy duty front adjustable endlinks for my G.

guess i could clean the lower lip again while the front of the G is on
ramps (keeping detailing content). im going to use the intermediate
settings so i can utilize all 5 settings on the front swaybar.

Alright Kenchan - I sure hope you haven't got me hooked on something else - just ordered a bottle of the Griot's Speed Wash. Figured it might come in handy since I'm moving to a place that actually has winters. Sad thing is I'm not even sure I'll have a garage!?!

cadfael- don't worry you're too late. you're going to like that
SprayOn Car Wash.

no garage, huh? well, if you keep up with the washing should look nice
still. i wouldn't get too picky on the swirls though.

Alright - went back and reviewed my previous post. I quoted Blimey about the Sprayon Carwash when I meant to quote on the Undercarriage Spray (fixed that). I have never tried the car wash but I do know the undercarriage spray is crap - actually worse then crap. So my offer still stands for a free gallon of undercarriage spray.

oh, i knew there was something wrong with that earlier post about
Griot's SprayOn Car Wash cause it's good stuff.

i have the undercarriage spray and it works well for plastics fender
liners on SUV's. but it does get kinda all over the place unless you're
careful. you might want to try it on your arches and see how it works
vs BW.

^ Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet !!

So, what's the first planned mod ???

IMHO, the first mod anyone should ever do on an R56 is lowering. In fact, a person should just figure that cost into the purchase price, it's that necessary.

Sweet JCW, for sure !

Thanks. No lowering for me. Being in New England the winters get pretty rough (both the snow and potholes) so I need all the clearance I can get. I don't deny that it looks good, but it's not worth thrashing my car up or getting into an accident because of it.

I need to find some sort of plug for the antenna hole. I don't use the radio and I think it looks decent with the removable antenna off. That's the first thing I want to do.

I have the mudflaps and need to install those. That'll be "mod" #2.

On my way into work I realized I can't live without my SilBlade wipers so I'll be ordering some of those for the MINI as well.

I have a dock cable coming for my iPod, after which I'd like to find some sort of mount for it so I don't have to keep it in a cupholder and can still access it.

I'm still on the fence about blacking out things like the headlights and grill trim. I'd originally been all for it before I got the car, but now that I have it I'm starting to like the balance of chrome and black. Hmm....

I think that's all I've got in mind for now. Trying not to spend too much on it right away.

BTW, you guys ever consider starting some sort of chatroom? You're on here enough, heh. Seriously, though, if you want to start one I can help. I'd love to get a NAM chat going.

BTW, the trim around the roof edge sucks. It hates when my microfiber cloths touch it and is a PITA to use BW with an applicator pad. Any tips?

DISCLAIMER: OG is not responsible for personal injuries resulting from licking BW off more than two fingers.
