LOL! yah, i traded the civic in last Dec. i didn't like the fact that
everyone has one in my area... also that car was on a lease. I dont
like leases. i just bought the FitS cash. makes it easier. and
more fun to own.

Yeah, I think we had that disscusion about Civics when I was looking to get a DD. Now, I have no money. I agree things are more fun to have when you own them.

Question - who has a portable 12V vac? Who has one that they LIKE? I need one to take along for MOTD... no, not a rechargeable... a plug in 12V...

i can't remember the name of the 12v one i have, but it's been running
fine for the last 6yrs. it was those $35 cheepo's from Autozone...

We have one of those, too... man, do they suck !!

We must be vacuum obsessed. That makes six vacuums in the house now.

If the Dyson came with a 12V cord and could plug in for no runtime limit, I'd buy it... recently bought our first Dyson for the house and it's awesome...

But I'm not spending $150 for a battery vac that only has 6 minutes of runtime (even though I'd never use more than that in the MINI, I might in the MINI plus the van...)... and $75 for a batter is ridiculous...

Other suggestions?

so i got another bottle of this 134a recharge today.

the one i used last year apparently crapped out... there's still liquid
inside but not enough UMPH! to push it into the MCS's a/c system.

so the system shows 30psi while the car is on and no cold air coming.
im thinking about releasing the air inside the system down to 20psi while
the car is off and then start the car to recharge.

does that sound right?

it is. i looked at the dremel units with cord and the only difference i could
see is that people are playing more money on the nicer looking housing
and the colorful box. there is no vibration on this cheezo units and
has adequate torque, 4 speeds, most of the tips you want. it does
the job.

originally i was about to just get the dremel accessories set for like $20
and use my drill, but then saw this unit and gave it a shot. works
good enough for me.

I really like my Dremel, for what it is worth. The flex cord attachment is great, no vibration what so ever.

so as a b-day present to my wife's mom, im going to do some quick
detailing on her solara this weekend... will consist of the basic most
basic basic basic package.

wash using dish soap i have remaining from the kitchen.
wipe using cotton oil rags i have.
wax with some crap i have from 10yrs ago, or just WD40 the
entire car.

jk

First, do an oil change using mobil1 gold cap, check all fluid levels.
Wash with Griot's CarWash, clay as necessary, then Hydro.
Vac interior, clean the floor mats, nero5050 dash and panels.
Clarity the insides of glass.
RainX exterior glass.
Rotate tires if necessary, correct psi, light dressing.

hope to be done in 3hrs.
