Must be summer, busy here
Thanks, ken... been living with back problems on and off (mostly on) since I was 24 years old... that's 23 years for those keeping score. Lately it's been getting worse and landed me in the ER twice in the past 8 months. The last couple weeks have been tough... doing too much now that the weather is nice.
But hey... it could be worse. I could have a serious disease like OCDetailers illness !!
ewwwwwwwwwww, that sucks !! I drove through some blue paint spilled by a commercial veh once and it took me months to get it all off. Hope yours isn't that bad !!

But at least with the OCD you get some pleasure.HOW ABOUT THEM FLYERS!
I didn't do anything I originally was going to do today.
Martini party got rescheduled for tomorrow, and I'm not sure how this happened, but it's here now instead of at my friend's place
Easier for me though...a BevMo run will probably be in order tomorrow...
I did not do a d*mn thing to my car today. Instead, I woke up with a huge head full of allergy-related gunk. So I went to the grocery store, got a mega-load of groceries and a pack of Zyrtec...which did NOTHING. I went to Best Buy to square away the dishwasher sitch. It will be here on Monday and the Temporary Roommate/Handyman will install it. I wanted the dual drawer-type dishwasher, but the only ones they had were discontinued and apparently the stainless steel panels are a separate part number, and we could not find a store that still had panels, even though the dishwashers were on clearance ($799!! That's insane!! They're normally like $1400!). So I was sad about that but we got the new Electrolux instead. It's not as cool as the drawers but it has a stainless steel tub, which was a requirement.
On the way home, I picked up some Benadryl and Claritin (which worked, but is just now wearing off) and I crashed in the hammock with a new book for the rest of the day, and I just finished a fat dinner (grilled chicken and ribs, corn on the cob, garlic bread).
And that sums up the report on my day, haha...
Paul I'm glad you thought the brakes were not bad. I've got 44.5k on mine and they're just now starting to squeak a little. I'm sure they'll be due soon and I was worried about doing them myself.
Oh, and I'm way jealous of all y'all going to the Dragon
Every year I say "hopefully next year" but I know it's at least 2 years off, and who knows if there will even BE a MOTD by then.

I REALLY hope DP gets the Banana Gas as a regular product. I love that stuff, the paint looks great, feel good, even with no claying/polishing in about 6 months. Plus it goes on, wipes down easy, and I see no white marks on the trim. I was in a hurry, hit the arches in a few spots and it wiped right off.
I think it will be presentable enough for the Dragon. Where my next post will be from

actually clay would be one of the last choices especially in a wheel well.
if the spatter is over plastic i would use some strong solvents to dissolve
the paint and BW afterwards, but i would not use it on the metal areas.
i think it'll be much easier to clean it the best you can and paint it if it's
real bad.
if it's on the suspension pieces then definitely try clay.

Yeah, how 'bout those Flyers.... played an impressive game last night ! Nice to see Biron solid in the net, that's for sure.
Yeah, I had to scratch that itch yesterday morning with just a wash, Hydro, vacuum, polished some chrome, and blackened the tires.
Then spent the rest of the day with the moist heat pad and the ice bag.
ML- dang, hope that allergy thing goes away. man were my eye itching
like hell yesterday while i was outside. the wind does not help at all..
is stainless the way to go these days? i have small stainless appliances in
my kitchen but it takes more effort to clean them than the white... white
you can wipe off using some windowcleaner and it'll be done but stainless/
brushed stainless you have to make sure you wiped real well in one direction
otherwise it leaves behind streaks... and even finger prints.

maybe im looking at it too closely?

hahaha, well my pops is much older but he still thinks he's youngso that's healthy.
ouch on the back. even i (without chronic back pain) have a sore back
from yesterday's quick detail on that solara. majority of the hardwork
was claying the lower bottom of the panels... so much wormage, tarage,
gunkage embeded the last who know how long.
triedwizard BugRelease which did majority of the work on the bugs, but
the tar and other gunk would not come off with just detergents.
WooHoo... brake job is done... brakes are bedded in and cooling now... of course hard to tell how they work since the whole point of the bedding in drive is to wear the paint of the rotors, then get them hot enough to fade... so I'll test drive later this afternoon and see how the carbotech's are biting... but suspect they want achieve maximum bite until they settle in a little more...
I think I'm going to blow off the pre-MOTD polish... car really looks pretty good, only a couple of swirls that OG and Heather will beat me up over... but I DID get motivated enough to do some engine bay dress-up... painted the "ridges" on the JCW intake and the ECU cover - blue on the intake, red on the ECU. Also drained and removed the coolant tank, cleaned it with acetone, and shot it with black engine paint... looks FANTASTIC compared to the nasty OEM color... I'll post pics sometime...

Yeah, the stainless gets fingerprinty but I just found this new thing:

The handle thing just sticks on to these thin little pads and you swirl them around and it not only cleans the stainless, but also makes it unfingerprintyable for awhile. In fact, I did my stainless garbage can maybe two weeks ago and it still looks really good (it's usually gross in no time, no one in this house but me apparently likes to use the foot pedal to flip the top open).

we have our own allowance accounts and our shared 'house' account where we have petty cash. came from there.

but she said you sure that's all you need? so was like no, but
didn't want bad karma coming around to slap my **** so just said
'yep, that'll do'
So I changed brakes on the Expedition - those friggin calipers must weigh like 50 pounds each. Anyway wasn't too hard. I also installed an aFe CAI and was going to change plugs. I got two of them replaced but there is no way I can access the other six. I was considering removing all the bones in one hand so I could reach them, but that would not help with the wrench. I think I'm taking my new plugs to the dealer and telling them to do the other six.
Today I just washed all three vehicles and Hydro'd them and the wheels. I need to polish and wax the Expedition and CR-V again. The Expedition has like overspray on one side so I'll need to clay to get that mess off. I also bought touch-up paint for the Honda and Ford and will do chip patrol before polishing.
So many cars and so little time.

I met friends at the mall for lunch, shopped a little bit (new sunglasses, an outfit to wear to a wedding, and a bra). Then I stopped at the grocery store for munchies for tonight's martini bash. Now I'm at home watching golf on TV
