Must be summer, busy here
actually Hydro does a fantastic job hiding swirls.... i know my black legacy
can use some polishing but my lazyarse keeps reaching for Hydro and just
do that instead.
so, i finished painting the window sills this morn and arrive work
on-time.
looked pretty darn gooooood. wife was impressed.

blimey- i went over to murray's during lunch to check out the ICONS...
my G uses 24" and 17" both out of stock!
oh well.
but i did pickup some more cans of paint and also electronics cleaner spray.
im thinking this is the same stuff as the RC car motor spray i use...
hopefully. will need to do a taste test later on to compare.

so, i got my annual review and was promoted today with a decent raise.
and as a congrats gift, my wife is getting me the 3" orbital and some
other stuff from Griot's.
hope to have it in my hands by Friday.

Yeah, congrats!!
I do agree that the Icons look modern and relatively sleek, just because you don't see the connection points between the blade and the holder. I have the PIAAs on the MINI, which basically look like OEM set-up, but they are really slim (at least compared to the Icons, which I had on immediately before them). If someone made something like the Icon only much slimmer (and that actually fit to the windshield - I'm convinced the design is part of the problem - the PIAAs have 4 points that press the blade down, the Icons really just have one point (the wiper arm) distributing pressure along the length of the blade...it just doesn't work well, at least not on the MINI), I'd be all over it.

Yeah, forget it, I didn't do it.
I was thinking...I'm just going to have to do it again on Saturday for Sunday's run. That's like...2.5 days away. So I'm just going to wait and do it on Saturday.

Slacker. That's 2.5 days more of driving a dirty MINI.
Actually it hasn't rained or snowed here all week so I'm now on day 5 of a clean MINI. That is to change tomorrow however due to snow tomorrow and Friday. 81 deg today, snow tomorrow - it's enough to crack your windshield. Maybe that's why I now need some new glass, that and the rock I hit at excessive speed coming back from AMVIV.

No no...cuz when I do it, I DO it.
I think my big issue this week is allergies are just killing me. I'm exhausted and my head feels like it weighs 40 pounds. I'm having a hard time motivating to work, much less to do anything extra around the house or outside.

yah, i can sort of understand the allergies. mine's not that bad but it is
frustrating at times since i keep sneezing and sneezing and doesn't stop.
head feels heavy but not 40lbs.
so im going to try griot's PaintSealant this time... it's on order in the 2nd
box that's coming hopefully tomorrow.
going to use that on my FitS and Legacy and see how it turns out.
from there just Hydro till Fall.

Woo Hoo for new detailing tools! Two nights ago I ordered the Flex DA for when the PC just wont cut it. I would have liked to get a rotary, however I do not have any room in my apt for a hood, I think my room mate would kill me!
On a side note, I found my future DD this weekend. Drove with the Fiance from Columbus, OH to SC for wedding stuff in my sisters v6 Solara. We averaged over 30 mpg doing 70+ the whole trip! Much of which was 75 in WV and other places

FlexDA, huh? cool. keep us posted how it does. i will also review the
3" orbital when it comes in. hope it doesn't explode like ML's.

yah, those Solara's are well made. i worked on a 4 cyl version but man
toyota knows how to make things ROBUST. no wonder their reliability
is high. it's like a failsafe system they got implemented on their cars.
i hear the v6 is a pita to do the oil change though!
we will see how this goes and evaluate your performance later on.
yah, i can't wait to try them out over the weekend.

As for the flex, I have 4 details next weekend in ohio, I will need the extra speed.
The solaras oil filter is right on front, not that bad, its the Lexus rx300 that sucked! I thought about the 4 cyl, just not sure i could stand the lack of speed.
No...they're the bolts that go in the holes where the screw-in handle goes. They're supposed to make it less elbow-pain-inducing vibratey.
Mine has yet to explode, but I dont use it much. It is handy though.

that filter is like on the inner side of the header... dont burn yourself.

the 4 cyl shouldnt be that bad, right? camrys were always kinda quick
for its size.

ahhhh~!
my elbow's fine but when i run at higher speeds for polishing the noise
is pretty annoying... especially in my garage.
I have to get off my lazy butt and order my polishing stuff. I already bought myself a polisher, now I just need the pads and polish, I think I am going with Sonus from autopia or Griots from Outmotoring because those are the only places where I can get everything I need in one spot.
Not only get to polish my MINI but my mom wants me to do her Yukon XL (mostly get a bunch of light scratching out). Given that you can undertand why I need to think carefully about where/what I order.
