took the pcb out...

made the housing smaller so that i can fit it behind the dash somewhere...

finished! cant even see where the cord's coming out from inside the cubby. :p

they come in these big packing tubes so the wife was asking me wat the tubes were for. kept telling her it's the toilet paper core made for elephants.

So I've ordered some of the Sonax Wheel Cleaner everyone is talking about, should be here tomorrow.

Getting excited for my visit to Griot's Garage on Friday!! I've got a List together, but still going through the Catalogs to make sure there isn't anything I've missed!!

RJ- please keep us posted on how that wheel cleaner works! i usually dont have much spare time and wash my dd's when i have time... usually in the sun. im not sure how well sonax can withstand being under the sun for 5-6min while it works. i think it will dry before it can finish its work...

ahhh, griot's visit sounds exciting. they have their own speedshine and sprayon wax mixer machine thingie. hope they show that to you. from the pictures it looks like a pretty elaborate machine.

so last night i worked on CF wrapping my Z's roof. the work turned out great, but it reminded me of my dad's (new at the time) 82' old's ninetyeight with the faux leather top. it wasn't a faux CF look, more like a faux roadster canvas look. although it was a lot of work to put it together, i ended up peeling all off this am. i'll post up picts later. it looks pretty good but just not the theme for my Z.

The landau top!

The Red Stripe guy once said: "Boo, too much of a good thing. Hooray Beer!" I think we can all learn a lesson here.

i like the EZ funnel (paper disposable funnel) and dispense set they have. i use it often actually. sounds like fun.

so....here's the roof wrap i did a few days ago (but ended up removing per earlier post, didn't like the faux roadster old's ninetyeight look)

after removing it, i threw it at the trash can, but here's where it ended up... on my trash can! the wrap was too small so only did this as practice.

pretty impressive how forgiving this stuff is, huh?

here's the earlier CF wrap i did of the HU... it looked great, but not perfect.

this is the new wrap i did last night. difference is CF into the openings and tighter on the dials. a more finished look.

What are those on the wall? Paint rollers? Just scrutinizing your garage.

Awesome light set-up you have there. I want part of my garage to be like one of those post-manufacturing paint inspection tunnels. There will be a wheely chair to sit in and stare at my MINI.

those are my PDR tools to push dings out.

yah, funny you mentioned cause my original plan was to mount the flourescents vertically on the walls between the studs, but i noticed it would make it that much easier to bump and break the tubes (im kinda clumsy at times) so decided to mount on the wall.

Dent removal, eh? Sounds pretty cool to be able to remove your own dents. I'd probably mess it up some how and have anti-dents next to the original dent.

it took a lot of practice to know where to aim and how much to push.

ive seen poorly done PDR where they pushed on the wrong area and made the panel look worse by stretching. it's kind of like sculpturing, i suppose.

Maybe in the future I'll place a real toilet on the driveway with a red TypeR emblem...

i was thinking the bottom side of the lid and i would just sit facing backwards so i can see the CF.

my small emboss heatgun died today... lol i think i used it too much doing these wraps.

so i pulled out my regular large heatgun and did the work below.

pulled this wrap from the trash...

works just as good.

WTF do you drive your car there's not even pollen in that engine bay!

That does look slick.

BTW....What's the Verdict on the Dyson blowless fan?

thanks, everyweekend after I'm done motoring I plug the battery into the manager so each time I do a quick dusting as needed.

I haven't bought the dyson fan yet. I have a cheap tiny vortex fan that works great in my garage.

Decided to take my chances and motored the Z this am. No rain

The CF film did not do too well under the hood so removed it and painted the area glossy black. Going to give it a few days and polish it with ScratchX for a final buff.
