What do you guys think about a pale orange U-stripe on Josie?

Drew is uploading pics right now I think, from the Jag detail. It looks sooooo pretty. And my right shoulder is sooooo dead.

Even with a white pinstripe on the U?

Josie's white stripes are already grungy looking. I am super-annoyed and am thinking going orange may help. I'm used to Clara's black stripes!

Today's post-detail aftermath is baddddd. My shoulder is killing me, and both of my feet are swollen! I've never had that happen before, but I can barely walk!

watcha get, RJ?

so today picked up a pair of 10mm spacers from a local G buddy. i didnt know kic's made 10mm until recently and coincidentally he was selling his so worked out perfectly. going to put them on my SSR's and push it out a tad. 15mm was a bit too much for me and 5mm's im currently running is a tad too little.

So 10mm spacers aren't "spacers of death" for the G like they are on the MINI?

---

Yesterday I ran my car through first and second gear and it revved to 8 grand each time. I thought it rather exciting and wondered why the limiter hadn't stopped it.

After cruising on the interstate for a few miles I looked at my tach again and saw that the indicated rpm was 1k higher than the sounds and vibration told me it was. This kind of concerned me and I pulled off. While stopped, the idle was at 2k with the sound and vibration of 1k, and with the engine off, it indicated 1k rpm.

Turning the electrics on and off didn't fix it. Now I was really concerned and remembered the "ecu reset" from the in-dash trip menu. It is actually a gauge test and rest, but I had the instructions for it in the glove box.

Anyway the gauge reset worked and all is well again.

nabeshin- wow, sounds crazy, good you had your reset sequence with you.

yah, on the G im currently running with spacers 19x9 (+21) and 19x10 (+26) and it's flush but not super euro-ghey VW flush. watever that means. it's a nice clean look, lowered about 1.5" or so.

i installed it last night and took her out for a quick spin. handled pretty much the same and no vibrations so this is all good. next project is to add a dd stereo in there (i need 4v preamps so doing a Pioneer DVD) this wk to rid the 6CD changer with cassette deck.

RJ- dang... that's a lot of stuff coming to ya.

here's where im at right now on my G35C's stereo install... waiting for my HU to come in.
im using a JDM Skyline Coupe trim so that it has the doubledin with factory painted trim.
also moved the dual climate switch from my factory console and soldered onto the JDM a/c
control module.

this is with the JDM trim and a/c control module.

i might decide and use the 4200 instead... not sure yet.

You must have a great job, Ken. All it seems you do is tinker with cars, play in your music room, and order things online. (Expensive hobbies)

Naw, I'm just a regular ol' ken.

Will post up picts later on.

RJ- caldusters after wash did not work well for me.

Got done installing the new HU into my G35C. finally got rid of
the damned cassette deck.

Using the JDM trim, moved the dual climate control button over from
the stock HU.

zip-tied the resistor wiring onto the PAC so that it does not tear apart...

hole for the USB that goes into the cubby. the circle and line is for my EZ
felt how i would cut it (next pict)

here's how it looks inside. the color of the EZ felt is actually closer to
stock but the camera's flash made it look werd...

i decided to use up my normally-closed push switch to do the video bypass
inside the cubby. you can get this little switch from Radioshack. or you
can make an auto one using a relay... or buy a pre-fab'ed one off ebay.

bezel trim to rid the gap between the JDM trim and the HU. this trim came
with the 4100DVD. you can also buy a scosche DD trim from amazon if you
need one.

the trim was mounted onto the JDM trim on the inside using thin double
stick tape and some e-tape. otherwise it will rattle.

another angle. :p
