Driveway is clean, but I need to chop down this stupid, aphid pooping Aspen tree.
Oh and just to mock me the Honda engineers decided that no heat shield was needed under the hood and that they should paint it black too.
And there is like a body seem all the way around that sucks in water and slowly releases it by way of the Honda water boarding torture.
I'm sure they are sitting there in Japan just having a good old laugh.

Mental image of chuck looking under the Pilot at the water dripping off the vehicle going... . And then he looks at the heat shield under the SUV and again... . And then he looks at those swirls and spooge from the Aspen tree, and again... .

Methinks the Pilot will not be a member of the family very long.

You just gotta let go of the premise of an SUV being something you detail. They're supposed to be dirty. All the time.

<gasp!!!!>

I've been thinking about adding a Strut Tower Brace lately... have the M7 trut tower plates now (as well as camber plates, and the M7 USS)... for me the STB would aim for maybe a bit of stiffness improvement, but mostly for bling. I've considered the usual suspects (M7, JCW) but don't really like the look or engineering of either. I like the functional design and color of the OMP, but hate the ugliness of it. Then I found the GTT brace.

OMG, I'm in love. With current exchange rates, it's about as much as my car payment.... but it's so awesome, that doesn't matter....

Though I'll have to detail all those holes in it... (see, this post does involve detailing...)

^^^Very pretty!

I would go for it! It would mostly be for bling, as I've read that they don't do a whole lot, especially compared to the upgrades you already have done.

I think they help on a Cabrio.

Yep.... If I can get them to return my email and ship to me, I'm gonna have a red one on Blimey....

Insanely expensive.... but awesome, IMHO. Best looking thing I've seen in a MINI engine bay.

the smoothest lady MT driving ive ever experienced. no shift
shock wat so ever. her husband is a classic porsche
collector, she said. 82' 911turbo, etc. nice~ so they are into cars.

Were you silently evaluating the interior detailing during the ride?

I washed the MCS after getting back from Phila yesterday to see what the damage was- two dump trucks blocking the highway, one with dust/small rocks flying out the top of one of them. Not too many nicks but I sure am glad I ordered that touch up paint. This is why I never drive into the city.

Dump trucks suck.

I just ordered my insanely expensive strut brace. Moving this much money from the US to the UK could quite possibly cause Fannie Mae to fail, somehow. But I don't care... it's gonna be the centerpiece of my engine bay makeover... and we must have our priorities straight.

Yep, I H A T E dump trucks. I travel on a secondary road all the way to work and back. It's 27 miles in each direction. That road is routinely driven by dump trucks. I'm behind one almost every day. I used to try to get around them becuase they are sooooo slow. But it's not worth getting pelted, so I just sit back and go soooooo slow, too. I never get within 200 feet of the back of them anymore.

Can't wait to see your red strut bar, Paul. Did you tell them NOT to send it on a ship ?

Theortically it's getting made now, will get on a plane next week and I'll see it the next week... theoretically.... if it gets put on a ship, I may row out and meet it halfway...

Good luck with that, Paul. I'm so out of shape, I might get 50 yards off shore and then I'd have to hope the tide brings me back.

so i got my 3 torque wrenches (1/4", 3/8", 1/2") and the crowsfoot set from Snap-On today.

out of the 3 wrenches one of them had a 5/06 build date and calibration
certificate from 5/06. and it looked used. so i got pretty
pissed...called them and they're sending me a new one for tomorrow's
delivery. wtf, these are $280 wrenches... i demand to have a new one.

and while their site stated that the hex socket set was in-stock it
was backordered with no ETA, so cancelled that. ordered a SK version
from sears instead.

Your wife got you a USED torque wrench for your anniversary, Ken ???

Imagine if you bought her a used diamond ring !

I think she owes you a lot more than a replacement new wrench for that little shennaningan.
