Never had that problem and I often use it on my JB convertible in direct sun. Of course, I only spray one panel at a time and wipe it right in/off.

I'm pretty sure Ken loves that stuff, too.

yah, actually i use only SpeedShine on my hobby cars and it works
fantactically. the only time i get streaks is when the towel
is too damp. just pull out a new towel.

for more soiled sections i prefer to use SprayOn CarWash to get the
crap off without working it in too much followed by SpeedShine.

for wheels i use Slick since i only use polymer on my wheels.

hey, i was able to break 40mpg (actual 42.3mpg) on my FitS.
and i wasn't driving that slow... i just kept the revs a tad higher than
usual. even used my A/C. car is advertised to do only 37mpg, i think.
That's very impressive indeed!

I pretty much drive at WOT all the time... I think I need more horsepower, bad.

We are all packed, ready to go. May, but I don't think, I will be on line till we get back. Have fun, be careful, report what comes up, and keep your rides looking better than some others do

See ya, eh

lotsie- just enjoy your time off and dont think about the thread for a while.
come back with a fresh mind. we'll be waiting for picts of wat
you bring back.

so, today's a sunny day which means my G will pull out in about 30min and
will wash my dd's later on the morning.

my pos legacy sparked a ses and flashing cruise control while my wife
was driving down the expressway yesterday.... 5th or 6th time this car
has shown problems. each time it scares the crap out of
my wife. she says she wants to get a Fit.

i scanned the code, got a code for loose cap which i know it's
not, erased, reset, and fired up. took a while to fire up again but now
it's back to normal. i hate this car.

I'm going to do the BIG chore today, Ken... wash, clay and wax the SUV !

Then tonight, it's time to go out motoring and to dinner in Dr Evil. If I can still walk.

Yeah... where the hell did he go ?

Perhaps he got tired of the childish and boorish behavior on this board and found a new one ?

And I was just about to put him up for vote for the OCD HOF. Oh well... we'll try to get him inducted in absentia.

Yeah, it's not huge compared to a Suburban or a Nissan Armada, but damn, compared to a MINI, it sure is a monster.

Got it washed and clayed, then I hand-polished a few stubborn spots with Griot's Fine Hand Polish. I have some Epic on there now. Yeah, used my precious Prima Epic on the SUV. But only because I accidentally have two unopened bottles of it in the cabinet.

Also used the Clarity inside and out on the glass.

Getting ready to go vacuum it and then hit the interior with some 303 and Nourish on the leather interior.

Wipe off the Epic and I'll be done. And it'll be good for another three years.

3yrs.

are you not going to dress the tires?

got done washing my legacy in the sun. not bad, no stains and it took
me about 30min start to finish. wish i can do this 15min start to finish
but then i'd have to hustle. that usually leads to higher frequency of
profanitic out bursts so i take my time.

so, now im just relaxing... wife wants to go shopping for boots...
how boring...

The SUV was Roxanne's when we met. And I've known her for about 3 years now. This is the first time I've done a major detailing on it and I guarantee you she never did one. Probably the cleanest it's been since it was about 6 months old... and it's a 2002, I believe.

Dressing the tires... ... they would take half a bottle of Griot's tire dressing ! Those things are HUMONGOUS. I can't believe those are only 245/65/17s... they seem like 325/95/19s.

How about a pic of that Legacy to see how clean you're keeping it.

CR&PW&JB- yah, those tires are HUGE on those QX's.

i had picts of my legacy a while back but it wasn't really anything THAT
exciting to look at so removed it from my gallery. i drove it today
the entire time we were out shopping and it seems the reset cured the
ses and flashing cruise control light. guess i'll keep it a little
longer.

i took my wife to the jewerly store to order a 10yr wedding annivarsary
ring. i let her choose cause she's going to be wearing it everyday, she
said. it's a custom piece so i can have the store place more diamonds
into the platinum later on. although the next time wont be for another 15yrs.
blahahaha!

small(?) price to pay for letting me play with my car hobby.

small ? price.... I'm sure it was not !! Very cool of you to buy her a nice gift, ken. Ten years is a big anniversary. Congrats !

Yeah, buying gifts for our other half is a nice way to show them we appreciate letting us spend so much time taking care of our MINIs, talking about our MINIs, buying stuff for our MINIs, driving our MINIs, etc, etc.
