yah, i dropped them off at FedEX. kinda sad to see them go. i got a
good look at them while i was packaging. they are by far one of the
bestest looking aftermarket wheels for the MINI's. tirerack did a
great job sourcing those.

guess now, im going to enjoy my BBS till the day i sell my MCS...
which might be for a while.

Sell your MCS?!?!!

Haha. Its an 03', so how many miles do you have on it?

BTW- I still haven't been able to get rid of the yoyo just by driving. It is definitely there still, yet the car doesnt seem sluggish at all. We may have different software, as my MCS is an 05'.

Are you done with power mods?

mine's just shy of 27K miles. my software version is v42. You might
be on a newer version. the yoyo effect was never bad on my car.

power mods? nah, it's quick enough for me for street. im running a
CAI, 15% reduction sc pulley, and the Milltek catback. i dont race or
anything so it's fine. i dont trust MINI anyway pushing it to the limit
all the time...it'll probably fall apart.

i would like to tighten up the suspension a tad more to further enhance
the ride. it's not bad right now, but the dampers seems slightly under-
damped with the H-Sports. i dont plan on lowering it that much more
though..maybe a hair just for appearance.

I dont know what software Im on. The yoyo isnt terrible but I didnt really notice it until I purposely tried to look for it...for me its at about 2750 RPM.

I think I might invest in some springs next year. I feel like the car is bucking at shifts too much...not good for power transmission.

bucking at shifts? you probably need to give it a tad more throttle
before clutch engagement. there should be no bucking...seamless shifts.

lord of the flies has those engine dampers that helps tremendously for
spool ups over bumpy roads. my engine use to have a hard time spooling
but with that damper cut that down significantly. might want to
give that a shot too cause it minimizing the rocking wobbly drivetrain
play the MINI's have.

Yeah Ive been thinking about engine dampers as well. I only have the slight bucking problem while shifting doing 0-60 sprints, etc. I've only been driving a stick for 1.5 years so Im still getting the aggressive shifting down. I have yet to learn how to heeltoe.

if that's at wot then it's not unusual to have a solid shift. you can get
a seamless shift at wot but i tend to go to the next gear earlier than
normal when im making a dash... chirp the tires a little.

It will be easier for me to chirp em when I get my 15% installed next week. Im so excited!!!

Yeah with ordinary driving its no problem shifting seamlessly...but who likes ordinary driving?

I just put a 2nd coat of BW on the trim, then Hydro'd today...looking good! Getting ready for my LvS blacked out headlamp rings coming tomorrow!

Since wheels and tires have been discussed lately gonna throw out something I've been going back and forth over. Got one tire (of the oem goodyear runflats) that's new (about 5,000 miles on it and lots of tread) - One tire with most of tread gone - and the other two (both on the driver side) that are about half way through their life probably.

I had decided to go with Falken Ziex Ze 912's replacing all four for the same price as one runflat but in the back of my head I'm nervous about not having a spare OR run-flat tires. Am I being paranoid?

Its reasonable to be worried. But once you get those Falkens on the car (more like those darn runflats OFF the car) you will not look back, as the trade off is definitely worth it. I mean if you get a flat you get a flat. Just pretend RFs dont exist...that might work.

ive been running non-RF tires since 2004. no issues for me. if the tire
tears can't do much but if it's something like a nail or screw i just
patch it up when i get home. i carry an aircompressor and a can of
fix-a-flat just in case... and my blackberry.

im going to see if i can get a car that uses 4x100 for the wife next time
so that if i do ever get a flat on my MCS, i can call the wife to drive to
where i am and i can use that car's spare on my MCS to get home. lol

Did the full detail last weekend including spot swirling. Was hoping to minimize some scratches from a parking lot encounter but no go. Guess I'll have to find some touch-up paint and go after them.

I was good though when I discovered it. Came out of sick call and there was a big chevy truck parked about an inch over the line and three big scratches on my door. Didn't put a tire iron through his window so I count it as an increase in self control

Sick call ? There's a term I haven't heard in about 6 years, since retiring from the AF.

Yeah, you did exhibit a great deal of self control. I may have waited around, all day if necessary, to wait for him to come out to the vehicle to have some words with him and get his insurance info.

Hope those scratches can be taken care of without body work.
