Yeah, buying gifts for our other half is a nice way to show them we appreciate letting us spend so much time taking care of our MINIs, talking about our MINIs, buying stuff for our MINIs, driving our MINIs, etc, etc.
thanks, CR&PW&BJ!

honestly, it was quite a bit more than my recent BBS wheelset so
to me not so small... made a nice dent in my wallet (hopefully PDR-able ),
but considering the total car hobby package which is under my title,
i think very small. and yes, wife does put up with me talking about
cars all the time.

so today im going to be pulling out my G in about 15 and then QD her
followed by slicking the wheels later in the afternoon/evening.

i also need to Clarity my dd's inside glass and dust the interior.
i need to do some intense cleaning on the legacy's rear seat foot
area which will include vacumming the area along with Griot'sCarpetCleaner...
and washing the rubber floor matts followed by Nero5050.

i temporarily removed the childseats to carry a new bed for my older
kid yesterday and wow did it show that the area was ignored for some time. yuk

This morning was PW time. Washed it (of course), Hydro'd it (of course), cleaned the engine bay, and installed the M7 strut tower plates. Had a little problem on this MINI... my third install of plates. Had some mushrooming already so it was rubber mallet/block of wood time.

I think I woke up some neighbors. Slackers, shouldn't be sleeping past 8:00 anyway.

got back from motoring my G to find my Legacy which i parked in the
visitor's lot (so that i can pull my G out of the garage) all wet from the
damn neighbor's sprinkler. i parked my car way back so that
water never gets on my car, but i think their kid was playing with the
sprinkler. nasty water stains all over the hood and glass.
Hydro would not get it off.

i immediately went over to this asian neighbor's house to let him know
i was upset. the kid's dad was very apologetic and said he'll talk
to his wife and kid about the sprinkler...and about his son leaving his bike in
the visitor's lot.

while i was QD'ing my G they got the bike out of the visitor's lot so i think
they're atleast trying to cooperate. will see how it goes.

finished cleaning the interior of my dd's. going to LeatherCare
spray the G's seats tonight followed by some interior dusting and Slick the
wheels. going to pull out my MCS tomorrow morning if the
weather's nice.

Hydro isn't a miracle cleaner (sorry Ken!)!! It's a wax with QD properties!! lol.

Get some Distilled White Vinegar--bought a gallon of Heinz brand vinegar from the grocery store for like $2. Put some on a microfiber towel, and wipe the spots. They will disappear for good!

I've been doing this on customer cars for a long time and works great as a quick precleaner off chrome, paint, glass, etc.. It's cheap, and is very low effort, and is a simple wipe--no rub deal.

If you're a fan of Salt & Vinegar potato chips, you might even get hungry while removing water spots, lol.

well, im going to leave it as is for a week and see how well Griot's
PaintSealant is vs the water spots... it should come off with either
heavy rain or the next car wash. if not, then clay. i dont like using
vinegar cause my car smells like british tato chips.

i do have a bottle of vinegar in my detailing arsenal.

I have to admit that I've done that!

(Not exactly with chips though---shrimp crackers.)

actually i used it to remove the salt stains on my FitS's carpeting a
while ago and it worked very well. it was 50/50 with tap.

the vinegar scent took maybe a week to completely evaporate.
wasn't too bad, actually. plus, vinegar potato chips with ham cheeze
sandwich tastes great.

Got the wife's ride and mine washed and waxed this weekend.

Shot these pics before sunset. Pardon the unfinished garage---that's a project for later this year (at least that's the plan ).

Both cars are daily drivers, ~5 years old, never been polished (yes, yes, I'll use a pc someday ... maybe. ).

I'll take a pic in the sun tomorrow when I take the kid to summer class (thunderstorms predicted for tomorrow though so don't hold your breath).

Yeah the first one is always the worst too. Get er done.

This reminds me of when I just bought some new Oakley sunglasses this weekend... I walked into a wall at Target and bend the hell out of them 2 hours after buying them.

(I usually dont volunteer this kind of info, but its 1 AM...what the heck.)

It's actually the fourth
Got the first two fixed. Now I have two more.

Don't feel too bad about the Oakleys. I sat on and pretty much ruined a pair of Ray Bans a couple of years ago.

nice picts ofioliti. looking at the reflection on the hood of the accord,
it doesnt look like it's too swirled? might need a whiter light
to tell, but from the looks of it the wax seems to hide swirls well.

dings are irritating for sure. i hate them so much i must bust
them out immmmediately.
