Must be summer, busy here
thanks, CR&PW&JB!
yah, they are up for sale but if i can't sell them im going to unwrap
those 215/45/17's and wrap them on my LegacyWgn's wheels.
then get another set of 205/45/17 summer tires but not ultra-summer
performance to use in the colder months prior to snow.
perhaps
Yok S-Drives or something like that.

Ah yeah, just went and read your Marketplace post.
Too bad you're so far away. Besides, I don't need another set of tires, just put the Falkens on Dr Evil. But those rims sure would look great on him, especially with the red calipers (darn S-Lites hide most of the caliper).

If your 5-spokes were white, I would drive up to Schaumberg and get them off your hands.
Then go to To-dai (sp?) and stuff myself with all sorts off goodies.
yah, thanks for your thoughts, CR&PW&JB & ofioliti

i haven't been to todai in a while... their sushi is so fake.

here's a pict i took this am. a closeup of my MCS's paint. the light source
is the morning sun.
pretty damn good?
Yeah, I skip the sushi and stuff myself with crab legs.
That's good looking paint, Ken.
Of course, according to a poster in another thread, it's easy to keep paint swirl-free. You don't even need to polish it. In fact, it's bad for your paint to use a buffer.

clean and it's bad to wash it...is wat he's saying.
yuk
thanks.
no i did not, because i was able to rid the flat spot on my own just
driving my MCS hard a few days in a row. even this morning i had no
flat spot.
my next project is KW v2's probably, but that's next season.

aggressively it will adjust to your driving style. my car was apparently
in the 'economy mode' where it had that annoying flat spot around 3k RPM
in the map.
now i have no flat spot.
i just need to keep driving it lively.KW is the manufacturer that makes coilovers. v2 is variant2.
the ECU adapts to driving inputs and environment so if you keep driving it

I had similar questions a while back, and here is a thread that discusses some of the issues (re-reading it, I still have some unanswered questions
)Here it is: Smart software
Ken, what was the "flat spot"? Sort of a loss of increasing power during acceleration?
h
Im sure Ken will chime in, but its basically a dip in power/tq around 3K, maybe a little later. There are tons of dyno plots in the drivetrain mods subsection that will show you what it looks like.
Ive been thinking about a BPV but I dont want to kill my mileage!

We found a replacement for the 2002 Expedition. A fully loaded 2008 Honda Pilot dealer with 3200 miles. Listed at $36,900, our price $25,097. I'm really thinking about it. Downside (CRPWALWAYSCLEANINGJB - you'll laugh at this) it is black. Sure it is smaller, but black? I'll need psychotherapy after the first month of trying to keep it clean.

DOWNside ?
Go get that Jet Black Honda Pilot !!!
Seriously now, Chuck, if you're not goingo to be OCD about your SUV (and I don't blame you, I'm not that way with our Infiniti QX4), then you're right, black might not be the best color for you.
BTW, nice to see you again.

Oh I'll be OCD about it. Was for the Expedition as I am about the MINI (just never took many pictures to prove it). We have never had a black vehicle and it scares me.
Does any body know about Honda's black? Is it hard or soft - swirl prone or just typical? Our CR-V is white and seems to be pretty easy to de-swirl. MINI black is what I would call swirl-prone though not as much as some.

Especially if you're an OCDetailer. Nothing beats a clean black car. Only problem is that you will want to wash it every other day.
As for Honda paint.... We have 2 relatively new Acuras and the paint SUCKS!!! It chips like a b****. However, it doesn't swirl too bad. I don't know if the paint is the same or different on Hondas/Acuras but I'd watch out.
The DT BPV is supposed to get rid of the yoyo. It probably helps as you get boost faster but if it doesn't change the mapping it is still there.
