Nice wheel, kenchan!
Hey, it's good timing, because I was just logging on to search/post on my new-used wheels question. So your post lets me get off-topic (if there's such a thing here!)

The wheels are Stern ST-8 Hyper Mesh II in chrome. A little overly pimpy, but they came with the car. I noticed corrosion in the silver colored ring around the centercap, and a hand applied metal polisher did nothing to the corrosion, so I suspect that it's under/through the metal, not on the surface. What do I do? I want to order Aesthetic Creations' centercaps to cover the Stern logo, but I don't think they would go over the ring very well, as the ring is raised and the black emblem is a bit lower.
Thanks!
PS I am dreaming of painting the calipers some day soon.

sfoanna- if you can remove that ring (or atleast mask it) i would
paint it with some enamel.

Thanks Ken! I don't think i'll be painting in place. It would take forever to mask everything, and I'd probably still end up sending a 911 post on how to remove overspray! Maybe this needs to wait until i have time and proper tools.

hummm... ive masked and painted my car bits many times inside and
outside while on the car, but have yet to experience overspray
issues.

part of my detail process includes painting mufflers matte black
on cars that need them.

so last night i tried wiring up that LED key ring on my FitS only to
find that the ring was too thick. so ended up just using
one LED and illuminating the area inside. it's not bad, it's functional
and got like 1/2 circle illumination. will see where i can get those
EL or LED rings later on.

motored my MCS this morning as usual and dusted his butt.
seems like tomorrow's going to be rain so will QD him if that's the
case in the morning instead of the drive.

ok, so ive had it with my CD changer and blitzsafe module...

every now and then the right speaker signal cuts-off.
i have to undo the plugs, spray a tad WD40 on the connectors
and plug it back in at the blitzsafe module. it's a pita.

so im thinking about getting my MCS a new 1din HU that can
read MP3 files... the stock hu's CD player skips when i hit larger
bumps and it can't read MP3.

might be a good xmas present for him.

I've seen takeoff newer MCS headunits on the marketplace and ebay... that do MP3 CDs... Keep the OEM look and function - just add features...

first, i dont like steve jobs so i dont buy apple...

next, my HU already has an aux input and can run my MP3 player (ZEN)
but it's a pita to skip tracks, etc... while driving. but again, i dont
like apple so will not get an ipod.

so, i was thinking about running an alpine CD playerless HU and hook
up my changer + run a USB based flash drive.

but then i loose steering control, so perhaps getting a 05+ HU might
be better...

or just sell the damn car.

tu13- you win. im going the aux jack approach.

yah, you wash your MF stuff as you normally do. then you fill
the washing machine again but this time just add 1/2 cup of
white vinegar. stir it a tad and leave it over night with the
lid open. then in the morning, close the lid and let the machine
cycle.

hang dry. this is from DP/Heather.

Going to the Dragon. Driving in the rain 6 hours to get there. Will probably hose it down and use spray-on carwash tomorrow. I didn't get my polish job done this week... which is good, I guess, because if I swirl it a little more I don't care. I'll polish it out in the next couple of weeks.
