Oh boy, I'm going to have fun making this phone call tomorrow.
After you hang up they're gonna say "That guy was nuts. He was upset about some crazy towels."

My brother-in-law, poyzin here on NAM, had some friends offer to do some painting for him around his house, and they used some of his detailing towels for cleaning up. It's hard to find free help these days

I'm putting my summer tires on this weekend.
Watch for the big snow storm next week.

I've got all my MF stuff in a closed container. We don't have a maid, but I could just see the neighborhood brats using them to build a fort.

Well... you can't fire the neighbor's brats, but you can do other stuff to them.

Yeah, glad to help, Ken !

Well, our maids are not gorgeous by any means, but not ogres, either.

Now, the ones here at work... a couple of them are young hotties. The rest of them, older, over weight, and not at all attractive. Just in case you're keeping stats.

I normally do all that as well. We've only resorted to outside help when we've been very busy and the mother-in-law is coming to visit!

Give me about three weeks. I'll be doing a major detail on Dr Evil (JB MCSC, of course) in preparation of MOTD. Will post some pics then.

This weekend I washed Clara and detailed the interior (which I hate to admit, had not been done in a LONG time), and then I washed and waxed (BG! AMAZING on JB!) and did the interior of Drew's MINI. I also hauled some leaves, shopped for birthday gifts for my niece and nephew, and helped change the oil in both MINIs and washed and oiled my K&N filter. And tried to fix the broken water heater, but it appears to be the regulator, and so will remain broken until the repair guy comes tomorrow.

I'm beat!

Back from vacation in the Keys.

Everything's blooming and Blimey was covered with yellow pine pollen, even though he had been "sealed" up in the garage for a week... and rain here off and on for the next few days... so UGH. BLECCH. Grrrrr.

Hm, that reminds me, it's almost pollen season here. I have one of those California dusters. Should I use it or is that a nono?

As long as dust and pollen is all you have on the car (no "dirt" or large-grained grit) then I personally am OK with using the duster - I use one myself. But my personal experience is that my car needs polishing at least once a year, no matter how careful I am at dusting / washing / QD'ing - just gets a little swirly with time (but never godawful swirly like 99% of the cars out there).

But I know some folks will have a swirl attack at the thought of dragging pollen across the paint.

I stopped using my Cali Duster after my last major detail and it seems to have cut down on the swirls a great deal.

I take a monster fluffy, spray on a little Speed Shine, and go over it every other day as I've been doing for the past 2+ years. (used to use the Cali Duster every day). Keeps the MINIs looking nice but with fewer swirls.

I'm thinking of reducing by major detailing (PC/Polish) to once a year instead of every six months.

Having a bad back will make you less OCD.

Yeah... I think more than once a year for the full polish is overkill, as long as your wash and care technique is fairly good... if it starts to look too swirly in between, you can always do a quick Amigo pass before the mid-term Epic application... much less effort than a full polish, and a good "booster"...
