Must be summer, busy here
sfoanna, looks great
One thing I do when applying Black Wow before waxing, is I apply it a bit heavy, and don't wipe it down. Then do the wax, and wipe it off the trim as I go. Then when it is all said and done, rub down the BW.
Well we took Gimli the clubbie for a fun motor yesterday. Very impressed with how the car feels in the twisties and hills. The turbo is very smooth, with no lag. We have driven 2nd gens without LSD, and now I'm convinced it is a must have option, no torque steer, on the straights or curves. The car has 17" wheels with performance run-flats, not bad, but job one is to wear them out as fast as possible, and get some new non run-flats. The well in the back is big enough for a donut spare. Lots of room for the dogs in the boot, although the smaller one did levitate gentle up and down while I crested a hill
.
Have been looking at mods, and first will be the Way/DDM heat sheild for the hot side of the turbo. Then next spring their air ram for the scoop and an intake. If there is a scoop, it should function IMO.
Today I'm going to finnish polishing/waxing Poco, his roof and boot are done, so just the bonnet and sides to do.

Poco is doing fine
, besides detailing him, he has new Stainless steel brakes lines coming this week, along with new plugs and wires. Now that we have the Clubbie, I also plan on doing a rear seat delete on the old fellow too. Next spring, maybe some new suspension goodies, and exhaust.
Oh, he is getting some stuff off the Cabrio, Dragon shift ****, glove box organizer, front strut tower brace

OK gang, meet Gimli, or 08 launch edition Clubman S. He has all 3 packages, plus a few other goodies, is Lighting blue/Silver. He has some miles on him, put on by employees at the dealer, but the warranty has been extended to cover those miles. They marked him down an unprecedented amount for a MINI, and gave us a very fair trade in for the Cabrio, which is right now possible getting a new tranny. So it was a deal we could not pass up.
I decided against putting on Banana Gloss, as I want to clay him first. But I did wash/Hydro. Here are some pics.

I've been WAY behind on NAM, but I can't miss out on congratulating you guys, Mark and Lois, on the new MINI !
It looks great!
I'll peer into your carport tomorrow after I take my daughter to dance class
thanks, lotsie.
yah, it was kinda werd cutting into the
ceiling knowing there's really no turning back after the blade
makes penetration.
thanks, the stock look is pretty nice on the G. although it's not
really stock. it's lowered and running 15mm spacers all around.

arrrrrrrrr!!!
Here's my baby after her first bath. Black WOW, Mystique, Hydro, Wheel Armor, and Clarity. I'm very happy with the results! About 2 hours to do that; I took my time, as I'm new to the Prima world. It's been years since I've wanted to wash a car by hand (the minivan and the SUV? right), but this was lots of fun. I'm 5'2", so it was great being able to work on the roof without a ladder.
I'll do the whole Dawn wash, clay bar, and on through to Epic in a few weeks.

One question: There is some white residue on the radio antenna base from when the dealer waxed before delivery. What's the best product to eliminate that?

Sounds good.
BTW, it's getting COLD out! Had to scrape off my windshield this morning. OBC said 28F. Ugh!
Which reminds me, what should I do for washing the car once winter sets in? I may be able to wash occasionally when it warms up but I think I might need to find a touch-free carwash, yes?

I have it good.... I can wash in my garage, and have hot and cold running water out there... it's a sensual experience to wash the car with a bucket of warm water and a mitt....
I finally got Blimey and the minivan washed last night... gotta carve out evenings this week to do Blimey's fall black wow/tar removal/clay/polish/amigo/epic treatment, plus interior detail... before I go to the Dragon on Friday and get him all dirty again...
Finished this phase of my engine bay makeover on Saturday... gotta take pics today and get them posted...

blimey- sounds good!
so you have drainage in your garage floor?
wish my garage had drainage.
last thing i want is squeegeeing out
the water onto the driveway and watch my wife fall.
ahem! i mean

well, wat i do is keep my MCS inside and let him hibernate once snow
sets in.

for my dd's, if it's below 28F i dont wash it and just leave it outside
in the cold dry air. dry salt does not rust metal nearly as fast.
if it's above freezing and got slushy salted roads, i wash as often
as possible, even if there's more snow coming the next day.

Nope, no drain. But it rarely freezes here... so I just sweep it out and it drains off.... yeah, in northern climes you'd want a floor drain... if I ever have a home built again, I'll probably have floor drains installed...
went motoring my MCS this am and it felt good.
had too much
indian food last night (i keep eating to much since it is so goooood)
and needed to make a pitstop.
irony is, the citgo i stopped at
is owned by another indian guy and i ended up buying a pack of gum
for 'thanks.' my MCS's tank is full so didnt need any gas.
they must have some kind of win win situation scam
going on...

that's good. i would also like to have a drain, but considering the
temps i would need to drain into the house sewer, not the storm
sewer probably. which is not a bad thing, but dont want it to clog.

There are times in Jan-March where it doesn't go above freezing for days or weeks even. I'm not sure what I'm going to do then.
