I made the mistake of parking in front of a house with what I considered to be dead grass yesterday. Apparently the people that owned the house didn't share the same thoughts that I did and they turned on their lawn sprinklers later on that morning.. so I came back to a spotted Geoffrey. I was SO cranky for the rest of the day cuz I had just given him a bath on Monday.

Dave told me to wait until he got home from work this afternoon and we could wash Geoffrey together but it just hurt to look at him all covered in spots. So after Dave left for work at 6am I snuck out and gave Geoffrey a bath at the coinwash. I feel much better now but I know I'll be in trouble when Dave gets home.

135's do look pretty sweet, but your garage is big enough for both ! I know, the G gets priority in the garage.
yah, i think im going to let him go this Fall. Ive been motoring it as much
as i can the last couple of weeks in the morning. it's a great car and all,
just want to move on.

from the looks of it, i think it's going to be either go with the power of
the 135i or the slick shifting 6MT on the S2000 for me. i'm looking for
a small FR coupe, much smaller than my touring car (G).

i like the BMW more than the Honda but thats mostly my preference on styling. plus the 135 has an air of sophistication compared to the S2000

i'm not kicking you out but how can you keep up this forum the G's forum and the BMW's forum. that's intense. what do you do for a living that you can waste that much time on here.

Wasting time ?!?! It's not a waste. We gather useful and valuable information here on NAM ! Every single post of every single thread in every single forum. Useful. Valuable.

Besides, Ken is problably like me and when he's on the board, he's multi-tasking. I sometimes have five or six different tasks going on at once and only four of them involve the internet.

CR&PW&JB- you're absolutely right! so much valuable info
here on NAM it's how you use the site and its tools.

earlier this week i wasn't even in the country traveling for biz but yet
found some time here and there to get connected. really depends on
wat im doing...but yes, i do multi-task all the time. you just have to
these days.

hahaha, jk. i had the Griot's MF wash mitt. bascially the
same thing, just no more annoying rubber banded opening.

a yellow sponge. Yeah, I'd believe THAT !

I was JUST about to go to Griot's website and order a couple of new MF mitts. I'm not sure I'd like the pads more. I guess if they're the same size, then yeah, just grabbing it beats trying to get your hand into that elastic wrist thing. Hmmmmmmmmmmm... might have to give them a try.

While I'm at it, might as well get another gallon of Speed Shine and Wheel Cleaner.

the MF wash mitt and pads are about the same size. i dont stick my hand
inside the mitt when i wash so that's another reason why that rubber
banded opening was kinda annoying.

nice! i have a fresh gallon of speedshine and sprayon wax on my detailing
shelf. speedshine is the bestest.

Do they make it in lambswool? Cuz that'd be nice, although I could understand why it wouldn't work right...

Mini Mania checklist:

Polish - check (But I give up. I'm never doing it again. I will require drugs to be able to actually DRIVE to Mini Mania, thanks to my elbows.)
Clean Clara inside and out - half a check (need to dust the inside...everything else is done. Ooo. Need to see how the wheels look too.)
Pack lunch
Pack mobile detailing kit - check
Change out floor mats - check
Pull out something cute to wear that's appropriate for 100 degree weather
Shower
Charge camera battery - crap, gotta go dig that outta my purse
Finish iTunes d/ls and load onto iPhone

^^ sounds like you're going to have a busy weekend!

for me, going to motor my G around 7:30am, come back around 9:30am,
wash my dd's done by 10:30am. then probably do some detailing on my
MCS interior and put together my son's little sandbox he can play while
im washing my cars.

need to go shop for a Dyson DC25 tomorrow afternoon. otherwise
really not too much going on. probably take a nice nap.

Gotta go do mortal kombat now with these critters...

And try to wash my boot without making it super swirly....

That's what 800 miles of interstate driving on rainy days in bug hatch season will do for you.... argh....

Just so Blimey can be shiny for our club meet today- when I'll drive a couple hundred more miles in bug season and start the process again...

I need a beater MINI...

blimey - wow. yuk. did you get him cleaned up?

just got done washing my dd's after my morning drive on the G.

two things...
1. the griot's MF wash pad is imho too big. it sucks up too much shampoo
and is clumsy to use. the mitt is easier to use even though it has that
useless wrist band thingie.

2. griot's Paint Sealant makes washing easy! but, i noticed
that Hydro was leaving behind a haze unless i went over it again with
a dry detailing MF. hummm.... seems like Hydro was having a hard
time attaching to the Paint Sealant. seriously defeats the purpose of
using Hydro... SprayOn wax is the same way, yet has a deeper reflection.

in summary here's a solution:
a. In the summer time use Hydro-only during handwash. no sealant.
b. In the winter time use PaintSealant and touchless wash. no Hydro.

i guess i'm going to use SprayOn wax this summer since i already have a
nice coat of PaintSealant on there.

Just cleaned up the interior of my dd (CR Cooper). Clarity on all windows, inside and out. 303 on the interior plastic and the seats.

Black Wow'd (see how I used that as a verb? ) the plastic exterior trim, polished all the chrome with P21S metal polish.

Gotta have him looking good when he gets his new pipes and CAI installed this week.

And yeah, Blimey, WTF ?!?!

Griot's .75 inch rubber hose, Ken... it's not cheap, but the good stuff never is. I want to get their fancy-schamncy nozzle and shut-off valve but I do have a hard time parting with a Benjamin Franklin for a friggin' hose nozzle.

no, the $20 firemen's nozzle does it for me. i dont like having a sw to shut
the water off when i can just twist the nozzle on mine. im sure the
Griot's one disperses water evenly than mine but i use mostly the stream
mode when washing my car so it doesn't matter.

im asking Griot's if they would be willing to put in a set of the MF wash mitts
ive been using with success in that waterhose order while i return my
pads. hope so... i doubt id use this thing again.
