Must be summer, busy here
finished the FitS's oil change, detailed the engine room, rotated tires,
inspected the rest of the car. went over to the store to recycle a
few gallons of old oil i had accumulated.
then hopped on over to the pumpkin farm with the wife and kids to
have some roasted sweet corn
, kids played out in the open,
motored back my FitS.
was a good day...well, still not over. supper (katsudon), some games,
etc.
and motor my G again tomorrow am and wash my FitS.

think im going to take a nice nap tomorrow pm.

pulling out the G in 5, and will wash the FitS when im back.
hope i can get some nap time today. im a tad sore from being out of
shape... did some work on the car yesterday which required a little
muscle but yet im sore.
or maybe this is from my little kids jumping on top of me while we
were wrestling...
so everyone's done with summer i see...

it's kinda hot today.
got back motoring my G, dusted and SprayOn
waxed the car. looks fantastic.
but i was dripping sweat... so hot.
then washed my FitS, did some minor repair on the front lip due to
scraping ground at the pumpkin farm yesterday.
they were parking
cars on their lawn and the slope was too steep for our lowered cars.
the super water sheeting action of Griot's PaintSealant is amazing. no
spots and it just evaporates water in the sun.
also cleaned the garage, checked oil levels on my G and MCS, FitS. forgot
to check the legacy's.
on purpose.
going to slick the G's wheels tonight and check tire pressure on my MCS.
still busy here.

Geoffrey is covered in dust right now bc it's been windy. It also doesn't help that I live right by the freeway. I'm gonna try to give him a bath this Friday before I go to the airport and then I can put his cover on when I leave him there and come home to a clean MINI.
yah, if you dont have window tint and window shade in LA that is
one way to fast forward the interior's wear. when i lived out there i
had a very dark tint on my cars and always used the silver shade.
for seats you might even want to put a towel over it while it's sitting
outside... but that might invite theives to check your car...
there's
really no easy way out.
so im in the market for some BBS RS-GT's for my G... im thinking about
selling my MCS to get them and bbk's.
hahahaha.

Wee, finally drove this morning after not driving all weekend. Was a nice surprise to have very little traffic since it's a holiday for most people (not me).
Got my wheels last week and cleaned em up. Probably going to take them in later this week and have some snows put on. Wee.

hey sounds good Tu13es.
refreshing to motor the MCS after
a break, huh?
got back motoring my MCS this am, did a quick QD on the front and
mirror, hatch. definitely a fun car to motor.
hope to repeat
tomorrow, given the weather is nice again.

So yeah, definitely fun. Spent a few hours this weekend riding with a friend in his Legacy GT. Frustrating that he never ever went above 3k RPMs in the 3 hours we were driving. Such a waste of a fast car... :(My MINI needs a wash but it'll have to wait a few days. :(
you like legacy's? werd. i hate them, and i have good reason. i own
one. LOL
cant wait to get rid of it. stupid me apparently fixed
the problem.
your car's a dd, it's fine to drive a little dirty at times.

Had to drive 300 miles this AM to a meeting. Another meeting tomorrow AM, then drive home.
The good news? Meeting is in the mountains. So I motored one of my favorite insanely twisty roads (at speed) this evening after work. And on the way home, I stop at my mechanic and get my RMW header installed
.
Gotta do my fall clay/swirl/amigo/epic treatment later this week to prep for the fall Dragon run...

yah, you already did some image motoring with the header i see.was a nice drive this am. dusted and spot SpeedShine'ed the MCS.
also brought up my stock wheels and tires for the G from the basement.
going to put them on since temps are dropping quite a bit and my RE050A's
dont stick well below 55F.

im thinking about wrapping some new Dunlop StarSpec's on the stock
wheels next season... anyone try those tires yet?
guess not.
looking at the weather tomorrow am, looks like 50/50 chance for rain.
being it's pitch dark at 6:15am, kinda hard to tell the color of the sky.

might do the wheel swap on the G tomorrow am...

RE050A polepositions so i must try it.
they look fantastic too,but they are not a-symetrical so not sure how loud they get after
20% worn, especially on a car like my G where it uses a lot of neg
camber and toe-in.
will see how well the stock wheels withmy spacers handle the car over the weekend and determine whether
to just swap out the tires or just get a new set of wheels.

good to hear you're enjoying your header!
one thing i should've bought to complete my milltek catback...the milltek
header.
Too much to talk about here... go read the RMW street header threads... but properly engineered equal-length pipe header, with a superior collector design, and a fantastic high flow cat. It's too pretty to hide behind the engine. The performance of a full race header, but in a street-legal form... The bestestestestestestest.
OK, a little more:
OEM Header and RMW Street Header:

Milltek:

The RMW uses larger, equal length primaries, and a much better collector design. The Milltek's collector is very similar to the restrictive OEM collector.

ahhh, that makes sense.
that header of yours looks good.
took the SSR GT3's with RE050A PP's off my G and put the stockers back
on with the Mich Pilots. added some 15mm spacers to push the wheels
out closer to the fender to maintain similar wheel rate. took her out for
a quick spin. NOT BAD!
stockers with pilots are a few lbs
lighter and i can tell the difference in braking.
those pilots stick
like glue.
i should look for some light weight 18's and run the starspecs next season.
