Must be summer, busy here
drizzy soggy day so pulled out my FitS again to motor. tried out my new
gas pedal cover setup and it sucked.
so removed it. will
need to look at smaller ones like momo or sparco later on.
my deepcycle took 4 days to charge
on the new battery tender but
it was floating this am.
so, im charging my MCS's battery now.
very easy. open hatch, plug harness, done.
i call it OHPHD.

I missed the boat on the early morning wash/BG on Poco
Needed both sleep, and get some chores done here on NAM. Pass your cursor over my username to see why I have NAM chores.
Now I'm off to do the wash/BG thing before the sun gets over to that side of the house.
I'll report back later.

morning...
i knew something was wrong when i heard t-storms around
1am in my sleep.

I had a chance to visit the Penske racing museum in Scottsdale, AZ. WELL worth the trip if anyone lives out there or gets a chance to go to AZ. It is located somewhat near the Barrett Jackson site. It was also conveniently located near the MINI of North Scottsdale dealership, which is getting its own new building as we speak!
(while you're watching a MCS motoring).

i dont usually get to see my car in motion so fun watching a close twin.
Just got all set up, came in to get the new wireless speakers so I have tunes.
When I got Poco 5 years ago, I would see another MINI about once a month, and it was always a thrill, but the biggest thrill was when I let my daughter take him solo, and I got to watch him moving. I trust my daughter with him, my son not so much, but I taught them both how to drive on remote rural back roads from the time they were about 12.

yah, i should ask my wife to video me doing a passby.
should be kinda cool to watch from another perspective. the one thing
i like(?) about taking my car to the dealer was to watch my car drive off
to the bay. although i can feel my car saying 'omg wtf is going on here??!!

Your MCS has a potty mouth, ken ?!?!
Yeah, it is interesting to see your own MINI motoring down the street. I'm going to have Roxanne drive it sometime soon so I can see what the red calipers look like when the car's moving.
I'm weird, I know it. You don't have to tell me.

yah, when it comes to our cars we do werd things.
chilipepjet - you had asked about pads on another thread - iphoning it right now and too lazy to hunt for it... But I'm pretty confident you can't do better than hawk ceramics for cleanliness.
Carbotech bobcats are slightly dustier but bite better and don't wear out your rotors as fast - they'rey current preference as everything is a trade-off...

So during the past three weeks I've been to Wyoming twice in the MINI and then we just got back from driving to Sioux Falls in the Expedition. I did wash the MINI between Wyoming runs, but not well since I was going right back. This morning at 6:00 AM I was out washing the Expedition then the MINI. Got done before it got too hot but man were they both buggy. Nice to be home after 3,500 miles of driving. Going back to Wyoming next week after my Maintenance #2 appointment this week. Hard to believe I've had the little car for 30K miles already.

<--me, not having to clean my wheels every day.
Tell me about it. My CR Cooper will hit 30,000 miles in about 8 days.
That's a lot of traveling, Chuck. Wyoming is not too bad though, I liked Cheyenne when I visited there.
No wonder we haven't heard much from you.

my MCS hits 27k in about 3-4 more days.
pulled out the G for some motoring around town
spot QD'ed and
washed the dd's. it's hot outside.
it's going to probably rain again
tonight but that's ok, i was able to get some nasty spots (dots)off the
cars before it set into the paint.
i think it's some kind of
bee crap or something.

Your 2003 MCS has only 27,000 miles ?!?!
Ken...
.... all those times you said, "I'm going out motoring"... you were just messing with us, weren't you. You sly dog, you were detailing and you didn't want us to know just how terribly OCD you really are !!

I will break 100k on the trip to Canada next week. 1000 miles each way, plus a week there.
I have guys a work who drive 1/2 tons, 4x4s, and big sedans ask me how I like my MINI, hows the mpg, that sort of thing. What always blows them away is that he is 5 years old, and coming up on 100k. They say he looks like he just rolled out of the showroom, I say he looks better
