I did some searching and the YRS 50 was replaced by the TZR 50. It's got both front and rear disc brakes instead of just the front, plus 6 gears..redline up to 14,000rpm...top speed around 70mph, lol. I was looking at 1997 models but 2009 models look like full size bikes.

so can one ride this thing with just a regular driver's license (since it's only 50cc's)? that's the whole point of this scooter/bike thingie, correct?

yah, need a motorcycle license to drive those... so probably not for me.

if less than 50cc's and no shifting, then it can be driven with a valid driver's license.

WOW, 70 mph I can get to 35 if I hold my tongue right Don't need a licence here in Missouri if under 50cc, not sure about the shifting. Mine involves no shifting.

yah, i think most scooters are like 49.4 or 49.9cc so they just barely get under the requirement. im not sure if a license plate is required either... how about special insurance?

hey, ordered my dual intake for my Z. was thinking about doing a long piping one but they sound like toilet flushing when you get on the gas.

so just got the short ram one like my G's intake. barely any noticable gain (6.5whp) but should sound good. this and some drilled pedals should finish off my Z
for now.

so... i ran the scooter idea to my wifey and she was not very thrilled about it. the reason is because she doesnt trust the drivers out there and thinks that i'll get run over.

been telling her im only going to drive it on the side streets 25mph... she says how about get a bicycle and get some exercise on bike routes...?

so then i told her as a carguy, there are 2 things that we truely hate...

1) birds (cause they crap)
2) bicycle riders (cause they are crap )

so, i think next year i need to buy it in secret.

You could get a "true" moped. You have to peddle them to get them going, so when you are leaving the house, it appears you are peddling away

So anyone doinf any detailing this weekend?

I'm going to be doing a full QD/SprayOn wax detail later on during my long weekend but no waxing or anything involved.

Got a pair of intakes in my Z and sounds great. :p. Not sure about the gains though I'm still 400miles shy of getting through breakin. The throttle seems so be a tad smoother than before. Anyway enough talk, going to pull her out for a spin in this am.

Did a wash, clayed the entire car, layer of Epic, Clarity'd the glass, and put Wheel Armour on the wheels.

That's enough for today. I'm tired.

The MINI is dirty. Needs a wash.

But for tomorrow it is a transmission oil change---a wash too if there is still time!

My interior was nasty - our club had a "show off" event at a charity head-shaving yesterday.... so i did a full interior detail yesterday AM, plus wash and hydro and engine bay wipedown. Looked good.

And I Hydro'd my head...

Looks great, although I have no idea what you looked like before!

I wasn't too sore from yesterday so I did a layer of BG on the MINI and re-Clarity'd the windows cuz I missed a lot of spots when I did it yesterday.

Then I "practiced" using Scratch-X on my brother's truck.

Dogdal- looking good!

Blimey- looking good! hahaha I like the non-shiny deep gloss.

So motored the Z this am which was fun. then started to rain in the pm, so decided to do the pad change.

Here's the rear...

Hey Blimey. Nice use of Hydro! Now your head shines and smells great too!

Ken-Nice brakes. What didn't they come with shims?

Did a "quick" 3.5-hour BW (new trim detailer test results coming soon - BW did much better this time), clay, wax and window cleaning yesterday. I hadn't done either in over a year other than Hydro after washing (don't hurt me!).

Claying the boot was rather arduous, but the Meguiar's blue clay made it relatively easy and far more effective than Sonus' green clay. Almost all the contaminants came off. I followed that with some good ol' Meguiar's NXT wax because I was doing it by hand and I knew the NXT would be really easy to remove.

Here's a camera-phone pic after the roof was done. I know, reflections mean nothing, but I think it's a cool shot (and I didn't set out to do any polishing anyway). The smudge in the lower-right might be left over residue I caught later, I'm not sure.
