I say give it a try, then let us know if it worked.

I still like my Flex better, but it was also a bunch more money, and was bough just for Mercedes paint. (Used to detail here and there for friends and family.)

Other than that, loving being able to wash my car again, hydro looks awesome. Going on three years with no polishing to my MINI, it is finally starting to look like it needs it again. Hopefully a new home is in my future.

Scurves- so you're talking about the new 6" RO, right? the electric one? (not neumatic).

i have a feeling slick is going to work against hydro by not letting hydro cure
on the paint after it dries. probably will come right off during the next wipedown...

Well, we've never tried it but go for it! I asked Nick what he thinks and he agreed you should try it but added that I should tell you that we won't replace them for you!

Wheel Armour is the way to go. Although I know you like the sprays (who doesn't??), you'll really save time in the long run by applying Wheel Armour to your wheels then cleaning them up with soap and/or Slick.

We could review your app technique at MINIs in the Mountains, but noooo... kenchan doesn't go to events!

No excuse! I'm headed to MINIs in the Mountains with a 10-month old baby, not to mention a 100-lb (albeit very mellow) dog, sans husband (although my mom-in-law will join me halfway through the event)... AND I'll be doing product demos and selling stuff.

What do you think baby seats, baby carriers, baby backpacks, strollers and play pens are for?? (yes, I'm bringing all of these things! egads!!)

(ok, now wish me luck!!!)

Heather- okok, but in all fairness you sell car products for a living where as for my work I'm on my bb all the time for a reason... when I travel never know when I'm local, out of state (out of country even).

So for the time I have at home id like to relax and do things I want when I want.

I just dont like following "schedules" anymore yet alone routines with the kids and housechores I must keep up with.

So that is my excuse for the day.
If you guys are doing MOTD everyday, I'll stop in when I feel like it.

Good luck out there at MOTD

ML- Yes, I'll need a semi!

Actually, I'll be driving a suburban up, with the added bonus of having our inventory transported up by the MITM staff (a wonderful offer made to all vendors at MITM by the local MINI5280 club... we really are spoiled at this event!). Even so, I suspect the sub will be filled to the brim!

Ken- I know, I know... just giving you a hard time. We'd just love to see you, that's all!

(plus, it's "MITM" not "MOTD"... MOTD was months ago! )

Seven weeks on the road, many, many airports, and it all ends in 2 days. Then 4 days at home. Then 10 days of motoring to MITM and back, can't wait to get going

Motored my G this am, dusted with my new Griot's coconut duster, then SprayOn Waxed.

Then Clarity'ed the glass, dusted the interior with my old beatup Calduster which works better than my new coconut interior duster.

Then washed my FitSW, Hydro'ed.

dogdal- it's 'better' in a way i can use it right off the bat and absolutely no smears on the glass...

but it's kinda linty at first so it too requires some break-in period. mine has become less and less linty and today it had no lint. that was about after 7-8 uses. if your car has that felt-like sunroof seal, definitely stay away from that until it's fully broken in.

it's definitely a nice duster. not as 'full of hair' as the calduster but there's
enough.

Yesterday got a chance to wash the MINI, hydro'd.

I did get some weird looks as I washed the engine bay and rinsed it with a weed sprayer.

scurves- try next time with a huge squirt gun.

so worked on fixing my old pos Drag wheels (FitS wheels) to prep for some primer.
it's sanded down, filed down in some areas, washed. next break i'll wipe it down with alcohol and then prime the lips. then paint the entire wheels graphite. then drive over to TR this fall to get some W60's wrapped.

Going to get Gimli the Clubman ready for the road trip to MITM today. Wash, spot clay a few areas. Then Banana Gloss, with a second coat of BG on all leading edges. Wheel Armor, Black Wow, and a light cleaning/vacuum followed by Nero on the interior.

Poco will get a wash, and a coat of BG on his newly painted boot. Read this for the background story;http://www.motoringalliance.com/foru...er-sleeps.html

wtf's going on here with the privacy policy page?
anyway...

lotsie- i would also check your door sill rails where the wide weather strip runs down the entire side of the sill closest to the driver seat. lift up the seal and see. a lot of MINI's had serious rustage there.

Don't know what you speak of, about a privacy policy page. Is IB checking on us

Yes, I'm familiar with the rust on the door sills. Happily Poco does not suffer from this.

lotsie- yah, i was about to post (hit post reply) and suddenly a white page popped up with all sorts of terms and conditions... it said that emails saved on NAM is shared with the vendors and others in the community or something or another too.

good to hear Poco does not suffer the sill rail rust.

Looks like our town is going to fix the roads nearby so might not be taking out my G this weekend and just drive my FitS. I hate getting concrete dust all over the tires.

Going to polish up the wheels that I fixed and painted for the FitS last weekend. going to use these for snows.

Otherwise need to wash my FitS pretty soon and also detail its interior.

Anyone else doing any detailing this weekend?

Forgot to mention earlier...so I took a quick power nap and woke up 3.5hrs later.

Got empty sprayer bottles of slick and hydro. These are the signature series.

Anyone need them? Will sacrifice for $200 each. Let me know.
