Must be summer, busy here
Thanks.... someday will be my primary occupation. Right now just my pre-MINI-hobby hobby, which has been neglected for the past couple of years thanks to youse guys.
Weather was NICE here this afternoon - so gave Blimey a past-due bath, Hydro, Leathercare Spray, Nero all interior and exterior trim and tires, quick vac, engine bay wipedown. Used my compressor to blow water out of all the nooks and crannies.
He looks gooooooood.
Did my long overdue wash of my cabrio windscreen - it always amazes me how NASTY that thing gets... it attracts and holds dust like crazy - doesn't look THAT dirty... but when I wash it with carwash soap and rinse, the water comes off BLACK like the brakes...
So my much beloved Prima waffle weaves are about at EOL. They've just about officially lost all their thirstiness. I've used the bejeezus outta them for 2+ years and washed them lots of times, so no wonder.... you guys like the Griot's waffles, eh?

Yeah, I have four of both but I prefer the Griot's waffle weave towels. They're a little bigger, have the pockets on the ends to help you keep the towel from dragging on the ground, and I can do a whole MINI with one of them... takes two DP towels.
Similar softness / absorption when new, or do you see a difference there?
Edit: Wow... those are a LOT more expensive than the Prima's.... and about the same size.
I haven't had any issues with my pocket-less Primas....

I've had two of my Griots towels for nearly three years now... probably been used and washed at least 100 times. No difference noticed in their ability to absorb.
im still running my DP waffle weaves. i bought 4 so keep 2 for dd's and 2 for my G... which gets rarely used.
should last me a WHILE.
as far as washing, i just use ALL detergent with no scents, etc. i dont use that much either.

Nope, paul... just careful to wash my microfibers separately from my other shop towels. Wash them in warm water with a little liquid Wisk. Dry them only until they are still damp, sure not to add any fabric softener towels (Bounce sheets, etc) in there... hang them to finish drying.
Hmmm.....
Maybe my problem is I'm drying them until they're DRY in the dryer... not using any fabric softener, etc. Using regular liquid detergent (cheer or whatever the wifey buys)...

using medium heat until they're DRY. All towels *feel* fine - and all seem to work fine - except my waffles, which just don't suck up water like they did when new - not sure how much of that might be hydro residue or whatever. I wash periodically with vinegar... Maybe just time for a new set - these are all nasty stained anyway, so I can retire them for engine bay, door jambs, etc. and get some new ones for paint...
Yeah, I'd say that's a wise decision.
If you place any orders with Griots anytime soon, go ahead and add one of their waffle drying towels (not worth the shipping charges to order one alone). I think you'll be impressed.

yah, or keep it as your bench towel when you're working on your interior bits and wat not. never know when old MF towels come in handy.
my monster fluffy is my shop towel actually. i use it to
set my delicate interior bits on while working on the car.
i never liked it as a buffing towel. it's too thick and clumsy.
