Blimey- lol!

CR&PW&JB - yah, I don't plan on buying another MINI in the short term, but maybe down the road...if they can make a nice one like the R53 again I'll consider it.

I didn't sell the MCS to be "replaced" by another car. I don't think there's another car that can replace it, to tell you the truth.

My priorities have changed in the last year or so and don't spend as much time doing car things these days. This is the main reason why I sold it. I wanted someone else to have fun with him.

Yeah, I can understand that, Ken. Besides, how many cars does a family need when there are only two drivers ?

Wait... ... never mind about that.

CR&PW&JB- hahahaha.

blimey- here's a pict of the basslink with the remote. i have it on sale
at $75. shipping's going to cost like $15 (thing is pretty clunky and heavy)
but i'll eat it if you want it. it fits perfectly flat in the boot.

other picts loaded in this linky...

Ken, I can not believe you finally sold it. I know before I moved west you said you might, but I was hoping it would never happen.

Ken should have sold one of the Fit's & kept the MCS as a daily driver.

Cleaning a Fit just can't be as much fun.

Good luck...

ken - thanks for the offer - that's a GREAT deal - but I think I'm gonna pass - trying to make myself focus more on the "need" column and less on the "want" column.... and there's plenty that I "need" more...

yah, if i was dedicated most of my time on car stuff i would definitely
kept it until it fell apart. but i didnt see that happening these days.
i have that empty nest feel when i go into my garage. but i'll
get use to it.

you know what, that was my original plan but the a/c kept going out
on the car and the dealer just failed me (4x). so i kinda gave up and
kept it as my hobby car...which did GREAT!

but now, i just didnt see myself spending the kinda time i did before
on my cars, so..

yah, thanks for letting me know! np! i'd definitely not get
side tracked with 'wants' before 'needs.'

yah, i think im going to finally get around to it next weekend since only one side of the garage is currently occupied.

yesterday i started de-modding the MCS around 7:30am and took me until about 2pm straight.

wat took the most time was figuring out how to put the stock exhaust back on. when i originally installed the Milltek catback i removed the factory exhaust and somehow put the factory hanger brackets in the wrong way (left side was on the right side with the hangers still pointing in the right direction) so was scratching my head under the car why the heck i could not get the factory exhaust hanger bracket screws to line up correctly. duhhh. took a while to figure this out.

but it was all good cause i sat at CarMax for like 3hrs to get the paperwork completed while i rested. even got to watch little house on the prairie in the waiting room.

ive had the car for 6 years so it was time.

hahaha, yah, now that i think about it.

yep, the G's almost 5yrs old now but still looks and drives like new.

hope i sell off the rest of the MINI parts this week so that i can dedicate
the remaining half of the garage as my work area. i have some wheels
and stuff that i need to repair and paint ..and sell.

noticed a lot of my local autoparts stores are out of duplicolor wheel paints.

where do you guys buy your paint for wheels online?

i want to get a dark graphite color since the cheezo
wheels im repairing has quite a bit of curbage from
the minor accident i had back in Feb. need to do
some sanding and spot bondo.

I got Hawks brake pads put on new rims and I don't have to clean the brake dust off them almost at all. I clean the Mini once a week and use just soap and water on the rims. When I rotate the wheels I use simple green, soap, water, then wax the inside of the wheels with regular wax. Don't listen the "high falooting" expensive means/ways...they just cost more $.

Well at least if anyone wants to buy a MINI in pristine condition, they know where to go!

...we went to Carmax on Sunday to see if it was there, but they had the lot locked down...WTF...how do they expect people to car shop if they lock down the lots...

exactly. but yah, carmax is closed on Sunday's, i thinks and they do lock it down.

also i wouldnt be surprised if they relocated the car. they tend to do that often based on market demand by region.

so this weekend i am going to detail my keyboards
using Clarity and DP MF glass towels for the screen and
keys, Speedshine on the housing and stand.

i am coming close to completing my music room.
actually i need a bigger room.

in car news, i will motor my G (weather permitting) and
speedshine afterwards.

anyone detailing their cars this weekend? i think im going to wash my FitS tomorrow.

plan of attack is motor my G in the morning, SpeedSine the G, wash the FitS afterwards, vac the cargo area on the FitS. been carrying a lot of stuff in there this week...particulary my old MINI parts.

then go in my music room and hide. my kids our going to be out playing with their buddies so looks like dad has some time to relax and play some ivory.

im too lazy to detail my FitSW now. i think im going to do that later in the Fall. with lots of Hydro on there i think it'll be just fine.

here's my new keyboard i got earlier this week. it's called V-Piano. i wouldn't call this an electric piano cause it's really an instrument all on its own. put a decent sized hole in my wallet...
