Haaaa... Paul, you should know that there's no amount of psychiatric care that could possibly cure me of OCDetailers's Disease.

Oh well, it'll end a lot of arguments between me and my other half anyway. We never argue about money. Never argue about child raising. Never argue about what to watch on tv or who gets the remote. But we sure do argue about the top up or top down on the convertible.

i got a 3 day weekend coming up.

but the road near my house is missing concrete...

this means no motoring in my G.

well, until maybe sunday?

i think im going to put my MOMO steering wheel back on the G. the stock steering wheel is too close when i have the seat positioned just right. and it's not like my legs are short...

in the FitS, the steering wheel was too far when the seating position was just right. so i use a MOMO steering wheel on it with an extened hub adapter.

i must have a werd length body...

So my Dad, who is retired down in FL, just traded in his G35 for a G37S. I told him that since it's black, he's going to have to work harder to keep her looking shiny, but I knew a guy who has a G35 and swears by Prima's Hydro. Now, my Dad is very OCD when it comes to his cars... has to Windex the windows and wipe down the car after every drive, bath once a week, and who knows how many times a month he sits down to detail his car. When I explained how hydro works and how Ken says that he just uses hydro and nothing else, he replied with "well what am I going to tell your Mom I am doing if I switch to hydro and the work is all done?"

I had no response, lol. I think he's sticking with his Klasse and elbow grease!

Hmmm - I don't use Hydro on my G.

Only Griot's Best of Show, SpeedShine, and SprayOn Wax. . I use Hydro on the wheels though from time to time.

Hydro is for my dd's.

Congrats to your dad!

Btw, we detailers don't use Windex. We use PrimaClarity or Griot's WindowCleaner.
So he's not yet at our level.

But there's so many uses for windex. Bad elbows, a cut, earache... LOL.

I once tried to get him to use a different type of window cleaner, but his argument was "Why?" Didn't have an answer for him. Plus, their Expresso Mercedes still wins best of class and show, so he's got a point.

Why? cause it leaves behind residue that clouds up after it's warmed up. Maybe that's why he needs to clean the windows after each run. Windex works great on stove tops and counters in the kitchen tough

In other news... Took a break from music tonight and worked on re-installing the momo steering wheel on my G... only to find a hairline crack on my WorksBell hub's center collar. damn it, can't use it.
Put everything back to stock. stupid excercise.

Again, he's winning car shows, so I think your point is sort of off base. He uses windex to clean mammoth Florida mosquitos from the grill and windshield.

So I decided to do a bit of research about Windex and how it clouds glass... a very bad side effect of a product that is supposed to clean glass. And the only pages I could find are ones where they are trying to sell you a different, non windex, glass cleaner.

Weird, I know! But not as strange as eleventy posts recommending lemon pledge! Seriously! (has anyone tried this?)

finally got some time off tonight with the wife so went out for a quick bite and went shopping. my buddy's kids' bdays are coming up so went looking for their presents. decided to get them some Lego's. man, there were a few Teknik (sp?) kits i kinda wanted too, so might need to stop by the Lego store later on in the weekend.

otherwise, the road construction around my house seems to be coming to an end pretty soon, so i think im going to be able to pull out my G by Sunday. yaay.

i need to wash both my Fit's pretty soon... maybe sunday as well.

anyone detailing their cars this weekend?

Blimey's getting a bath today or tomorrow - he's nasty. And he's dirty, also.

Its my G's 5th BDay this weekend. so I'm looking to get a new intake for her, JDM front side markers, and perhaps a nice CD.

The intake she has on is already aftermarket (and sounds great!) but I want to get the cleaner induction port version from Stillen.

I washed both MINIs yesterday. Got the 900+ miles of the road grim/bugs off the Clubman. We did a total of 3500 miles on our Colorado/MITM trip, washing/QDing him every other day while we were out there.

Poco was only dusty, as he has been mostly sitting in the carport the last 3 months (Now he knows what Ken's garage queens feel like)

Welcome back lotsie.

well my garage queen is covered (noah's dust cover) inside the garage if being stored for more than 2 months.

I don't want any pesky spiders and moth residing in the moldings, side mirrors, etc.

Hmmmmmm... doesn't feel like summer is almost over. I guess up there near the frozen tundra the summer ends earlier. Still about six weeks to go around here, maybe longer. Blech. I'm ready for autumn. Heat and humidity suck.

After I do some yard work, I'm going to do some much needed interior detailing of the MINIs, unless something more intriguing to do pops up, like doing nothing

Summer isn't over until the miniature velociraptors and hoodlums go back to school!

MINI's been getting covered in ash from the fires up in Santa Cruz. He'll get a bath before I leave for Maui on Thursday. Then he gets to sit in the airport parking lot under his car cover for a week. I'll miss celebrating his 3rd birthday on 8/24 but I'll pick him up a little something from Maui.

got back from motoring the G, was a nice drive. SpeedShined and ended up just SprayOn waxing the entire car. about 2min after i got home and my G inside the garage, major down pour. glad i wasn't caught up in that.

cleaned up my engine bay as well. just needed a quick dust wipe down. going to wipe down the wheels later on.

CR&PW&JB- yah, i too hate heat and humidity. had to take a quick shower afterwards...was only 80F and sunny with about 85%RH. but it was HOT inside the garage especially while working on the car.

lotsie- doing nothing sounds good. i like doing that sometimes.

leslie- have fun out there in maui. isn't it hurricane season in hawaii? happy early bday to geoffery.

yesterday i went looking for the stillen intake for my G but i need to special order it so i guess i'll start looking around where im going to buy a few things online.

yay i found the front JDM nissan front amber markers online so placed the order.

i think im going to pass on the intake and just keep the aftermarket one i have. from all the readings, seems like the one i have already has the best output (or shall i say input).

now i need to look for a nice CD for her.
