Man I hate the Owners Lounge! They still say I'm En Route, with an EDD of 3/19. HOW CAN I BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN AND HAVE TAKEN DELIVERY YESTERDAY?????????? Can they BE any more wrong?

That's probably worse than my Owners Lounge tracking which has my Waiting Transport, while the WW site has me booked and enroute on Carmen.

Yo Socks, your site's pretty cool! I couldn't resist chiming in My M.A. is amazed at how well we're keeping track of our MINI's anyway, he said "How did you figure that stuff out?"

Cheers,

Just one more indication that you'd make an excellent MA.

And although I seem to follow a lot of your posts, no I am not stalking you!

Well i took Winnie to european bodywerks, on the advisement from a friend/BMW shop owner, and the dude said he could fix it no sweat, make it look as if nothing happened. In order to do it he said he'd have to take off the entire "hood" off, take out the dents, and repaint the "hood" and put it back on, and attach the MINI emblem (since he's gotta take it off to paint. All for 300 bucks. i don't rightly know if that's cheap, too much, about right, or what.. but as long as it gets done right. Hopefully he has no problems taking off the bonnet or anything.

About paint matching.. is that easy? I have no idea about this stuff, but he said he could match it exactly, but does anyone know if he could put a clear coat on it or anything.. i don't want it to overtime fade faster than the rest of the car or anything. i'm guessing he knows about all this since he's a pro at it or whatever. guess we'll see sometime next week.

wish me luck,
ryan

Ryan,
Production was completed today, Motor'nMAX is born. I was planning on taking a trip to Deal's Gap once MAX was broken in. It is great that an event is being planned. I will definitely be there!

Here is a link for the Tail of the Dragon:

http://www.tailofthedragon.com/

I have friends who have biked it and they say it is amazing. Sounds great for motoring

Regards,

hey gr8brit, congrats to you too. our club may be small, but i guess that means it's just for "the select few"

what's your MINI's final destination? mine is Denver via MINI of St Louis.

Germantown, TN, just east of Memphis. It may be a small club but the enthusiasm is just great!

I'm still in awe of his explanation of how a rear sway-bar works. I've known how it works in my head, but ryan, you said it perfectly! Good job!

Sounds very cheap. And almost all shops shoot clearcoat today, because they must match the new type finishes. As far as blending goes, some shops go as far as blending adacent panels.

Best of luck Ryan. Hope it comes out great.

I just got an email from my MA telling me that my car is on a boat!

Oh my!

Anyhow, his estimated date is the 26th. He wasn't clear on whether that meant *here* as in on the shore, or *here* as in the dealership... guess I'd better find that out. Have to know when to start camping out at the dealership!

oh, yeah... should probably get started selling my car too...

>>The Carmen supposed to arrive on 3/24. In may case MINI has been very efficient, Build 3/13, at dock 3/15, loaded and sailing 3/16! So I guess it is possible that your dealer could have the car 3/26, because if I remember correctly, your dealer is a couple of hours away from the VDC.
>>But even if they did get it that quick, there would be no way they could prep it that fast.
>>
>>Anyone know how long they generally "sit" in the NY VDC?

Yeah, that's what's puzzling to me.. anyway, I wasn't expecting to get the car until the middle of the month, so anything before that is just a pleasant surprise. My dealership isn't too far away from the ports, really (at this point anything in the same state is close enough)... I've never actually been there, though.

Yeah, my current car is going to be my practice car for all of my new-found and still-theory car detailing skills. I WILL make the car look red again! ::revving up random orbital polisher::

That'll probably help the sale of the car a bit. If I don't mess it up

Hey Par4 congrats, since I'm just 9 spots behind you, I must be done too.(I'm currently on hold with ASKMINI...)

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I just spoke to Jen and shadowfax is completed and awaiting transport.

She also said they have not heard about any SERIOUS delays due to the war, AND she sounded pretty cheerful!!!

Par4, you up for a little SEA CRUISE daddio? I'm hoping for the TOSCA...

Over and out, y'all

Hey Rachel, do you remember what thread I said that in, I'd like to read what I wrote that was so awe-inspiring! By the way, I appreciate the compliment; I'm always here to help!

Tboner4me, you got booked on the Tosca today, you're now status 193!

Cheers,
Ryan

and we're all glad you're here!

the thread was here: Ryan's Swaybar explanation

I'm confused. I emailed my MA asking to verify that the 26th was when my car either hit the docks or arrived at the dealership.... his response was that it was when the car docked... in Newark, NJ.

I need a map! Just where, exactly, IS my MINI landing?!
