Hello all,

Home very late tonight, studenbts and I worked a 16 hour day today serving a 46 item tasting menu for 100 guests. I just wanted to let y'all know how much I appreciate this GREAT community we have. You guys are awesome and it's so great to share my excitement and enthusiasm with y'all every day. I'm booked on the Tosca and should be motoring in 3-4 weeks.

I have never driven a MINI, not even a test drive. The only one at my dealers the day I was there belonged to a salesman who was out of town (they had only been open a couple days)...anyone else buy without even driving one first?

I was sure that the MCS and MC were great cars, you fine people have convinced me that MINI owners are great too!

CWFAC forever!

Peace.

I'd love to, but that's actually my finals week. May is going to be such a hectic month for me, I don't think I'll even make it around here much, which is probably good cuz then I won't be too aware of what I'm missing out on.

You know, I've been wondering, where the Heck have Kelisa, MichealD, Bbuskas and Birdie been the past couple of days?????? You don't think there out motoring already do you?

Ryan,

! would love to come out and play with the dragon but I have four students who qualified for the State Culinary competition that weekend...I'll be in Fort Worth instead (and even worse, shadowfax will be in Austin).

I'm sure y'all will have a blast and righteously represent the might CWFAC!

Have you (or anybody) thought about trying to put together an April Club meeting/rally sometime? Maybe over the summer? Anybody have any thoughts?

I read this post and realized I haven't even been to the OL in 3-4 days.

Since I found MCO and especially CWFAC I rarely "go out" anymore. Do y'all read/follow any other forums besides MCO? How are they?

hey katie, dont be envious of me.

my stupid school sent my mother a letter saying that i am about to fail two classes (which i am not!) and she flipped out and said that she wasnt gonna co-sign for the car. i'm gonna let her cool off for a bit, but the outcome does not look good.

here's to the hopes that the dealership will hold my car or something....

Well, there's MINI2, also Roadfly. MINI2 is more technically-oriented, and is great for addressing those types of issues, but tends to be run by the "Gestapo" (admin's butt in all the freakin time  ), and Roadfly's forum system is major outdated. Both are great resources, however, and you'll find many of us at MCO chatting over there too (although perhaps not as much )

Cheers,
Ryan

Hey CWFAC'ers!

Sorry I haven't been posting in the last day or so (I did post on Friday night). However, I have been reading the posts several times a day, but just haven't responded.

I am really hoping for good news this week, maybe tomorrow. My dealer never called me on Saturday and I drove by the dealership on my way to the Flyers game, but didn't see any Indi Blue MINI's. This leads me to believe that the car was not on one of the delivery trucks that came Friday. It couldn't be that he just didn't call me and it is actually at the dealership? NAAAAHHHHHHHH.

Anyway, should be in this week and I should be motoring next weekend. The weather here has been great and I have had a couple bites on my car that's for sale. Things will work out in the long run.

Birdie

Hello All! I HAVE been MIA -I have to read back a few pages to see what's going on. See - I am a U. of MD alum and it is MARCH MADNESS! The Terps are playing as I type! So these past few days have been fun-filled but I have been nowhere near the computer.

I HAVE seen at least one mini a day this weekend, so that has kept me going. AND we swung by the dealership last night and they have a red MC with white wheels/white roof just like my baby- minus my ultra cool bonnet stripes though. So I am SOOO excited that the April minis are starting to roll in!! If we put together an April Club gethering, I am IN! There is supposed to be a rally at the end of April in NY if anyone is intereted. Check the NY/New England Forum.

Katie,

Where is your dealer? I thought you were in the NYC area. Trying to figure out the time frame from unload of vessel to dealer arrival. I guess it is the luck of the draw getting through the VDC and not the distance to the dealer.....

I'm in NY but taking delivery in Peabody. Mass, so it's totally backwards. Anyway, no matter how long it take to get to the dealer, my car is still going to take about a week longer, since I'm getting a bunch of dealer add-on stuff.

>>Rachel, I'm not sure what to recommend to do with your Probe, since the clear coat is damaged!

I decided on Meg's Dual Action Cleaner/Polish for the compounding since it breaks down to be finer and finer, so there's less cleanup work for the swirls that it creates (it's getting a bit more towards the medium-harsh end of the aggressive spectrum). I probably could have gone with something even more aggressive, but I didn't want to harm the clearcoat any more than it already was. Must... not.. make.. things.. worse.

Besides, the Meg's professional line is available on the shelf around here, so I didn't have the lag time of ordering things in.

<grin> my car is made of tough stuff.. there's still oxidation in spots, but I can't work through them with the mussed clearcoat. I finally had to give up and move on to the polishing and waxing.

I'm still upset that I couldn't get the car looking perfect, but apparently no one else notices these problems (except my boyfriend, but then I've trained him to be as **** as I about car coats). When I was out running some errands, my neighbors came out to ask my boyfriend about my 'new car' that they'd seen me with. I'm not sure that they believed him that it's the same car. Heh. Just wait... then they'll see my new car!

I DID take pics of the pink car before I started.. I'd have to say that it looks a bit better now. I should take a few 'after' pics as well.

AND.. I was wandering around in a restaurant last night and found the MINI postcards! They're FREE! Okay, maybe I've just got a simple mind, but that made my night.

lesson for the day: don't remove skin from hands. it hurts to type this way.

Ok, I was wondering how many time's we've covered this:

"Do you have any aftermarket plans for your MINI?"

This comes up cuz I'm about to do some Shopping for my MINI, since it's due in 13 days My shopping list includes:
H&R Springs
EBC Green Stuff brake pads, front and back
clear CHMSL only to match white roof, keeping OEM tailights
glove box organizer
I've been contemplating the Hot Pocket (hey wags, how's yours working out??)

I plan on ripping off those NASTY ultra-dusty stock BMW brake pads first thing when the car get's home, and I'll do the H&R springs while I'm at it!

Cheers, lots of Motoring very soon!
Ryan

For all of us on the Carmen -- today is the day our ship really does come in. Lets hope for fast unloads, a quick trip through the VPC and a short truck ride to the dealers. After a weekend like this one in DC, I'm really looking forward to opening the sunroof and doing some motoring.

Looks like I'm getting after market stuff by force now  ).

So anyway, this is what I put on my list:
• S gas cap
• Chrome side marker vents(the ones that look the same as the original cooper vents)
• Glove box ogranizer
• Moss skid plate -- I've become increasingly scared about my mini sucking up trash and catching on fire lately
• flashlight that plugs into cigarette lighter

Also I'm not sure yet, but I'm thinking about some kind of badge, that I could place on the back, next to the "cooper," like where the "S" would be. I like that Union Jack/ Checkered flag one, but I might search around some more first.

Oh and has anyone seen one of those stubby antennae in person? I'm thinking about one of those too.
