I'm with Katie.......Where the $%#@!*&^%) is my MINI!

Rye- Please don't give me any of that "be patient" stuff either. I have been waiting since November. I think that buys me a little latitude, don't you?

The deal is this......the weather is so freakin' awesome here in Philly and the weekend is getting closer by the minute. MY sons b-day is Saturday and all his "dudes", as he calls them, have been telling him that they can't wait to see the MINI when they come over. NOW THAT'S PRESSURE. I don't need to tell you how tough a 10 year old can be when he's trying to ipmress his "dudes".

Two shipments last week, but no MINI. I don't know how this week looks. But, my MINI arrived in the USA on 3/14. That's (7) working days and (11) calender days to get through the VPC. The odds are in our favor to get our cars this week, Katie. If not, personally, I may self combust!!!

The call sign for the Fidelio is (I believe) WQVY. The map above is the last reported position, which was several hours ago. Not a stellar record, has our little ship. Taking a look at the Coast Guard site, I can't wait for my MINI to get away from the ruffians on-board. So many reportable marine casualties!

Here's a question...do all of the ships stop at NY regardless? My cargo tracking shows the Fidelio in Baltimore, Maryland on the 28th March, Charleston, South Carolina on the 31st March, and Brunswick, Georgia on the 4th April. I'm scheduled to ride off, smoothly (I hate the idea of my baby being dropped as well) in Charleston.

Is there a stop in there somewhere that they don't list?

Has anyone been able to get a confirmation on Carmen arriving in NYC? After some of the recent discussions, I'm kind of afraid to call ASK-MINI. And I can't find a definitive link on the W-W site.

I feel like the "dropping" the mini quote is taking this mini birth metaphor to a whole new level. Ewwww. I want to see pics of My2003's new mini!!! Very exciting as each of our dreams finally comes to fruition!

When I get my MC I plan on taking a picture of it at landmarks wherever I go and I will start a mini tour photo album! Very excited!! Very very excited!

I planned a special covert investigation, since I hate bothering my MA.....he's a great guy and very patient with me.

I called into the dealership and spoke with the receptionist. I told her not to tell anyone I called and that I wanted to know if they had a delivery today. She said, "They called in 3 minutes ago to let us know that there were 3 cars at the BMW dealership. The guys are on there way to check them out. Maybe yours is there?" WOW! Talk about superb timing. Now, I am staring at my phone hoping even more that it will ring! My gut has been telling me I would get the call today. Let's see just how accurate my gut is.

Everyone, please put on your wishing caps and think positive thoughts for BONZO's delivery to the dealership today. PLEASE?!?!?!?!?!?

Yeah, Grover and Bonzo are very similar. The "dealer installed" missing stuff is white bonnets and racing lights. I bought the Hot Pocket and Glove Box Organizer.

I called again, about twenty minutes ago, and she didn't know anything yet. My MA was still out on a lengthy test drive. Trying to stay positive.

I, too, order the Hot Pocket, as well as the Glove Box Organizer. Also getting a stubby antennae, and was just about to place a call to Classic Mini to order the driver side European Parcel Shelf.

 

Thank you MiniSail on the Carmen update.

My MA today (very first call to him) said "a week from water to dealer". Then back pedaled and said depends on the VDC, and the fact that his dealership has to prep (don't want to repeat the number here, because it can't be right!) X number of cars in the coming weeks.

So I am guessing about 2 weeks from now (Long Island dealer).

OK, let's not all push and shove off the boat, don't want to get any dings!

 

Wow, talk about good news / bad news...

Good news: Just got a call from my MA, my car is at the dealer waiting to be picked up. (not bad, 5 days from ship to dealer, including a weekend).

Bad news: We wont know about my wife's job till the end of April, and the dealer wont hold the car that long for me. :???:

I'll talk to my wife tonight, but I have a feeling someone else will end up getting a nice EB/W MCS. :???: :???: :???:

You would think you could be able to convice your MA (or more likely the MA's Manager) to let you buy a month or two to close the deal. If you figure a mini MCS is going to go for roughly 25k (which includes profit to the dealer and his cost of inventory) you should be able to pay him interest on that amount and make him whole. If you figure his cost to finance the car sitting on his lot is 5% then if you pay him $104.17 you have covered his cost (remember his cost of the car is less than 25k) and given him interest at that same 5% annual rate on his profits. I think a simple option document where for $xx dollars you get to put a hold on your IB/MCS for one month (or two - just double the option price) should work for your dealer if he wants to be cool.

Change the car cost or interest rate to suit, but it still is relatively cheap for you to buy some time and still make your dealer whole.

Well, turns out my MINI must not have been on the truck today. 3 were delivered, but I never got a call from my MA, so I assume it didn't make this delivery.

There's always tomorrow. Thanks for the kind thoughts Ryan. It's coming, but is just taking it's sweet time. Hopefully, nothing is wrong with it.

Wastik, I wish you the best. Tough situation, but I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason. May not make sense now, but in time it will. Keep the faith.

Overall, if waiting for my MINI is the worst thing to happen to me...........I'll take it. Life could be so much worse.

wastik, i may be in your same position.

i get out of school at the end of april, and i'm gonna have to call the dealer tomorrow to see if they'll hold the car for me until i can work my mom into a deal so i can get the car, or find another co-signer and somebody to buy the metro.

the thought of somebody else driving morgan off the lot is almost too much to bear!

 

With Carmen officially in NY and due in Baltimore on Thursday, tomorrow ought to be a busy day with all our buddies heading off the boat and to the VDC. Bet they'll be glad to have their wheels back on some good ole terra firma.

Hey Wastik and Zero, have you guys looked at the June club at all? There's a guy there in the same position, who had been in the March club. Now he's re-orderd for June delivery. I know that whole idea sucks, and I really wish things work out for you guys but at least if you do have to re-order, you're not alone.
