on my way to Motor City MINI Monday, there was a DS/W about 10 cars in front of me on the interstate, so I bust a move to catch up, so NO avail! The guy disappeared (probley exited) before I could catch 'em. He was hard to keep track of becasue there were a TON of SUV's blocking my sight. Oh well, I was stoked that I even remote-viewed a MINI-in-motion good night,

oh, I've been talking to my MA, and though he can't give me an edd, we've been working on adding a little sumpin to the car, but I'm not gonna tell you right now, so there's a little surprise when she gets here and I post pics(it's not really that cool, but you know, mini's on the brain).

Great keeper of the lists -- can we start a list of the number of days between the boat landing (or the first business day after that) until everyone's mini is at the dealership (with a short discription of the distance traveled - such as NY to DC for my mini when it lands with the Carmen). This may help us judge time to Motoring since the AskMini folks are obviously tired of our calls.

 

Great idea Harry! I was pondering the same concept, but couldn't put it into words. I'll whip something up tonight when I get home.

Unfortunitally all auto related dealings are on hold as of this momment, that includes buying my MCS. My wife got notice last week that she MAY get laid off at the end of the school year due to the lovely Mr. Davis here in California. :smile:

I saw that someone posted on the MINI Owner's Lounge that production/shipping/delivery of, among other things, our beloved MINI's will be delayed by the impending war. The person had talked with their dealer and was told delays of 2-3 weeks should be expected. Anyone know if this is true? I was afraid that this might happen. Sucks for me because I am renting a car until my MINI arrives.

 

oooh Wastic, that's horrible! I'll keep my finger's crossed for your wife. The california school system is one of the only things that really sucks about that state!

I was curious about this myself. It seems to be a logical explaination for why the ships have stopped reporting and why the Ask Mini people have had so much confusion/lacking information lately. --stupid, confounded war....

Well I just call my MA. and he said sence my car is already out to sea that there should'nt be any delays on it getting to port on time. We shall see...

 

I could imagine that the war might disrupt future production, but those ships that are already on their way probably don't have much to fear from the Iraqi Navy.

Anyone have any updates from their MA? Mine says that the EDD's are presently being exceeded by 5-7 days. They went on to say that they really don't have access to any further details on the vehicles where abouts and that they find out when the truck arrives. They've been very good to me so far, so there is no reason for me to believe otherwise. My EDD on MINIUSA still says 3/19.

Also, to everyone out there...........my thoughts and prayers go out to those of you who have family and/or relatives who are serving their country in the middle east. May God bless each and every one of you and your family.

Actually, I think it is the departure date FROM New York TO Baltimore that has been dealyed by a day. The WW site still shows the Carmen arriving in NY on the 24th.

I think the logic was that due to the almost certain war, security at the port will also cause delays. Hopefully not.

 

Alright, here's a question for everyone...

When your MINI was on the boat, did your EDD disappear from your Owner's Lounge review screen? If so, does it come back later? Is anyone else's missing right now?

I'm on the Fidelio at sea right now, and noticed today that my EDD had vanished. It's somewhat disconcerting.

My MA claims she doesn't know anything yet. Still waiting to hear. Said she would call me the second she knows anything more. My AskMINI EDD is still at 3/20. I figured when I saw this date last week that I wasn't going to be met. Hopefully soon we will here some more good news.

My first calculations say 20 days between being loaded on the ship, and grabbing the keys (for MINI's going to NY ).

With this in mind, the people on the Jingu Maru will get their MINI's around Monday!

Carmen MINI's will be picked up near April 7th
Fidelio MINI's will be picked up about April 9th

I have NO idea about the west-coast dudes, anybody else?

I guess that everyone else on the Jingu Maru is past their EDD as well. I've been trying to get some idea on when my car should be here, I couldn't get any info from ASK-MINI. They say their new policy is that they stop updating once the car is off the boat, and it is the responsibility of your MA, though he doesn't seem to know anything, either (and ASK-MINI is much easier to get hold of than my MA, who hasn't been very good about returning my calls).

Isn't it ironic, we can get all this detailed information when the order right until the time the car gets here, at which point you would expect it to be easiest to get information ...

 

I don't know exactly how close these estimates might be you guys. For example I know I've read of some people who's cars took up to 2 weeks to get through the VPC. Also a large amount of dealer installed option's would slow down the process as well.

Gr8brit, Pamato, and Sockdaddy all got Status 193 today, and are all booked on the Tosca! They'll leave Southampton on March 26th, getting to NY around April 4th, and estimated delivery (according to my crude guesstimation) around April 16th.

My status just changed to "Scheduled for Production" and there is now a VIN number for my baby on the order details page!! Estimated Production date still says 3/28....that date has been on there for over a month, since the status was On Order. Have people been seeing those estimates be accurate?
