Drivetrain 231.9WHP with new big valve head. Stock cam and ECU.
Will do.
After paying appropriate vendor fees to all the MINI websites I frequent I figure about $100K a piece will work.
That includes the MINI discount.

people who argue making vs keeping horsepower have NOTHING better to do with there life. When you put it on your car is putting down more hp right? whether it is making it or keeping it who cares. Sometimes there are some people on this board who i think just like to hear themselves talk (post) whatever. Yes... it is factual that the intercooler allows you to keep the hp...(i prefer gives you the ability to make hp or make more hp)

If you put it on your car and your IATs are lower and your car produces more power on the dyno who cares if you are keeping or making..... my take is that an inferior IC will not allow to "make" the theoretical but a good IC will allow you to "preserve" your potential...
Put the thing on and measure your IAT dif.... refer to the thread I started about IAT dif and power made or lost and calculate.... actually that is what Way and I are going to do tonight or tomorrow night......
Talk about going OT

Slow NAM day what can I say.

then this other time at intercooler camp... I changed my tiny top mount to a rediculously huge front mount.... and went from 122 MPH in the quarter... to 127 MPH....
impatient:impatient wiiieerrd
.. but intercoolers don't matter that much, nor do they make HP..it's just a coincidence

I vote for "make"
the HP wasn't there before the IC was, so where'd it come from?
Matt
ps, Tuls, for the quarter, get a water to air and run some real, real cool stuff through it. Should blow all the A2A away!!!!!

Hmmmm, so if we loose HP in the intake and we loose HP in the exhaust, head and computer then all we have to do is remove those parts and we won't loose any HP. Then if we get rid of the engine we will have infinite power because that must be where the rest of the HP is lost.
I've gotta go patent this idea before anyone beats me to it.

The pressure resulting from the fuel burning causes expansion. If the charge is cooler to start with, the expansion is more. The expansion is what causes the pistons to move. More expansion=more power.
Cooler air is also denser. The air molecules pack closer together because they're not in as high an energy state. It's the same thing as what they see on the dynos. They have tell it the ambient temperature-that adjusts the correction factor to try to "even out" the reading.
Maybe I missed it, but. Will the revolution header be a bolt-on that'll mesh with any regular cat-back exhaust, or will it require a special / custom exhaust? (a la the Stahl unit)
And have we heard about pricing of this header or the cam (which is still R&D, right?)?

Magnaflow folks like myself will probably need to spec a shorter front resonator.
Or just go full fart and eliminate it and your hearing altogether

Then again......hnmmmm.....is there going to be a CB that goes along with this header?
Gosh!! I wonder
Funny you mention the Magnaflow as that is what Jan mentioned to me.....

The second system like mine was finished yesterday. RMW buys the new Magnaflow CB system then modifies them to work with the new header.
The front resonator is removed from the front of the car and then re-installed at the rear just before the merged Y. This makes room for the new High Flow cat and stainless flex joint. The connection between the cat and the header is made via a V-band connection rather then the flange and bolt type. Much better!
The new Magnaflow system is bigger in DIA then most. 2 1/2" down the center splitting into two 2 1/4" all the way to the tips.

Beautiful stuff but you have to run way too many mufflers to make it livable on the street.
Plus:
More mufflers = less flow
More mufflers = More money
The cost was getting crazy high and since performance should also be affordable too this looks to be a solution that works well and is not as expensive.

This must be the one thats on its way to New York

Thats what is on my car
. The "new" Magnaflow system works and sounds great with the new header.

You are the Fireballed distributor right?
Between NAM and MM you keep badgering JAN to give you a head to test and to see the data on his header and exhaust development. Why would he spend the money developing products only to give you, the competition, his test DATA?
Only Jan knows the total # of heads sold. Contrary to popular belief, I have a real job and don't work with or for Jan. I wouldn't have a clue other then allot
. I talked to him today and he told me he sold three more heads yesterday.I do know that there are at least one maybe two running around your little island.
Just having fun,
Longboard
