Drivetrain 231.9WHP with new big valve head. Stock cam and ECU.
Attachment 18924Yes, the numbers are real (see attachment)
231.9WHP and 184FTLb
Before the head I was at 193.1WHP and a peak of 172FTLB but it fell off quick. The dyno was done a week apart. the outside temp was only 3 degrees different between days. No water, no spacial fan, no ice just the same car before and then after adding the head.
All this from my new "Big Valve" head with a stock cam and the stock ECU. My Tuner el spent allot of money and time to develop this head. I was amazed at how well the car performs with the stock ECU. The car runs better now then when the stock head was on. Tommarow we are putting in the new custom ground cam with adjustable cam gear. Next week the custom header and 3" exhaust go's in. The final item of this "5 item piece system" will be the custom ECU tune. We will dyno the car after each install along the way to document the numbers. All on the same dyno
I have read allot that big valve heads will kill low end TQ. Well, take a look at my dyno numbers. You can throw that idea in the trash. The TQ starts immediately and stays flat across the board. The car pulls unreal!!!! I can't wait until the rest of the system gets put on.

Ya, the TQ doesn't fall until almost red line.
I can just imagine what it will do at 8000. Yes, this head will easily go to 8000 and will very soon. There is so much still in the head it's crazy. Wait till it gets to breath once the header gets finished.

Really, summit?
This one was custom made and very $$$$. Look at the name on the side and you can find the maker.

Another point worth mentioning is that superior parts need a superior fabricator. I was most fortunate to have CPR Fabrication in Costa Mesa, CA (2 doors away from Burns) do my work. I would have thought that the welds were done by a robot, but I was there when Chris ("C") did all the tig-welding on his workbench!
My project (cf., thread on 3" exhaust system: #92987) should be finished soon, and I anticipate some very good performance results. Originally, I wasn't going to replace my custom 3" header (non-Burns), but I'm now having second thoughts. Since I've decided not to get a Ferrari 348 or 355, I may revisit the header replacement arena
.I see that you are in SoCal; have we met before, perhaps at Ruby's?
Cheers,

Yes, I believe that is the same "Burns Stainless" stamp that is on the parts of my custom cat-back. There is no question that Burns Stainless bits are top-notch! The header designed for the specifics of the head is clearly awesome

I would like to see and hear your exhaust. The Burns mufflers are nice.
Sorry, never been to Ruby's

Longboard, I've heard of a couple stock blower only MINI's doing over 230 WHP, but I never saw a dyno of such... until now! Congrats on the new power
. Anything on air:fuel? That's always nice to check-out also... Keep us posted as you go forward!

You here that flow numbers don't mean much. Well, the flow numbers for this head blows away all others by allot.
I have 380cc JCW injectors on order. We will need them when we move the rev limit to 8000.
Longboard
Hey Longboard,
What is your current rev limit? Why do you want to jump the rev limiter up to 8000k? You mainly drive your MINI on the street correct? So why not try something like 7250 or 7500ish. I'm just worried about your valves, timing chain, blower, main bearings, biggie end bearings, etc.........and your HOOD TOO! I still can't wait until you bolt on a few more mods and hit the dyno again.

Hey I'm totally amazed..........quite stoked up in fact! I just don't want Longboard to give his motor/blower/belts a charley horse.
