Drivetrain 231.9WHP with new big valve head. Stock cam and ECU.
He is replacing it because he is getting a header that is tuned specificly to the head/cam/software this tuner is making.

But, my new head flows sooooooo much more air we need to let it breath to truly show the potential of the head. The new header/exhaust should make a big difference.

Hey Longboard,
What is your current rev limit? Why do you want to jump the rev limiter up to 8000k? You mainly drive your MINI on the street correct? So why not try something like 7250 or 7500ish. I'm just worried about your valves, timing chain, blower, main bearings, biggie end bearings, etc.........and your HOOD TOO! I still can't wait until you bolt on a few more mods and hit the dyno again.

I don't think I will see 8000 allot. But the times I do we should have no problems. The springs in the head are good up to 10,000
. The valves (which are custom made) will be fine. As for the rest you need to keep in mind that we have a 15% SC pulley with the "stock crank pulley" on my car. With the 15% we are producing less heat. Less heat = happy engine
Stock crank pulley = happy internals

Very nice numbers and it does raise a few general questions to give some substance to the post. If you don't mind answering it would be helpful to know if the 190 hp number and the 231 were derived from the same dyno and if so how much of a time period between tests. Additionally 190 is a respectable number in itself. Could you tell us what mods you had to achieve that ( 190 ) result. Thanks for the info and good luck with the remainder of the project.

If all goes well, we'll have it on Msfitoy in time for the Dragon
Should be interesting to see what the extra parts I already have in addition to Longboard's mods (light FW+Quaife+Meth injection+DFIC+AGS) would produce...

I'm not worried.

I'm still amazed at your new found horse power and torque from your new head, stock ecu and 15% reduction pulley!

My bad on that I came in on this late. So with a 15% pulley, CAI and a OBX header you put down 193 at the wheels ? That is about the higest I have ever seen for those basic mods by at least 10 to 15 hp. Has the dyno shop that you used done any other Minis as a comparison ? Thatnks for the info.

Kalbone with similar mods but add header made 195 WHP
all on mustang dynos... so this is not THAT abnormal... although I have seen the opposite too where cars with similar mods make barley 170 WHP... so HOORAY FOR WEDNESDAY BUILDS!
My new head netted me 30 WHP and I thought that was HUGE!
39 is COLOSSAL! (Regrdless of the fact that "Iregardless" is not a real word

My car has always been strong. Some are and others are not.

As I know where Longboard lives, I may have to call over and scavenge the old parts from his trash can !
I could do with a new exhaust (etc)....
Congrats on the numbers - I saw your car up at C&C on Saturday, but could not find you to say 'Hi'

By-the-way - check out the C&C pics here your Mini is there
Methinks somebody with the initials "J.B.", has worked some magic on your MINI.
I guess all that racin' experience pays!
Congrats for being the guniea pig! If it's who I think it is that built your system, I'm impressed.
