A thread this long will always go off the rails a little bit, the banter sometimes helps with you the motorvation you need.

I thought the last couple of post were educational???

As you can see, 15 wLb-Ft peak gain and 33 wHP peak gain are mighty impressive! Not only does the Jesus head out power the stock setup as low RPM, you can see the VE is improved up on the top of the RPM band too, very impressive!
My 02 MCS pretty much with the same mods, accept I run 15% pulley and Mini Mania's big valve head along with a cam, came in at 208.5 whp with 185.6 trq. I think I can therefore assume/conclude that the head gave me somewhere between 25-30 whp gain.

Helix's dyno is nicknamed "The Heartbreaker"

Was your run on Helix's dyno?

This was all brought up 40-50 pages ago .

It was done on dynojet. The car has a stock cat, IC and injectors by the way.

Yes that's excatly is the case. However, I'm not sure that thoes will not be at some point my future mods. Currently I'm saving for a GRS IC. I have heard that it is by far the best core IC made to date. The design and the quality of it's core are 2nd to none.

Yes stock IC and Cat. I was told that all after market cats go bad after a while. It seems they can' hold the heat oor something in that effect and hencego defected after a short while. Is this true and or has anyonne used a cat with lots of miles on it to show prologitivity?

I' hoping to generate additional 25-30 whp when I go with GRS IC, Alta CAI, DT BPV and Emil's TUNE in LA that Maio got.

IUdealy I like my MCS to be somewhere around 270-280 bhp, thats about 240-245 whp. After that the only other solution I see for more gain is Turbo which I won't undertake.

By the way, I also still run an old K&N air filter that doesn't compare to today's Alta CAI.

Hmm? Intresting, didn't think the IC made HP. Does it not just keep the HP. you already have?

While I haven't seen half as many dyno runs as the boys from Helix have, my limited exposure has shown that the Mustang runs about 10% or so less (on average) than the Dynojet.

At a dyno day a couple of years ago, I saw three Minis, all of which had posted in excess of 200 whp on dynojets barely crack 180 on the Mustang. My own car dyno'd about 19 less and later my Evo proportionally did the same.

Don't see how it can make power, it's physics.

people who argue making vs keeping horsepower have NOTHING better to do with there life. When you put it on your car is putting down more hp right? whether it is making it or keeping it who cares. Sometimes there are some people on this board who i think just like to hear themselves talk (post) whatever. Yes... it is factual that the intercooler allows you to keep the hp...(i prefer gives you the ability to make hp or make more hp)

It's only the finances or lack there of that are the hindrance at the moment. If I had it my way I would have had the car in the shop today having worked on with new header, cat, IC, BPV, new tune and few more uprades as well.

I can't help to stop thinking about it, it's like a good sickness to have.

I need a wallet IC.
So I can "make" more from what flows through it

Careful Obe,

I can already see the natives sharpening their sticks and lighting their torches.

OR...

It possibly allows for all the potential HP to be realized.

I to am busy doing nothing, this sabbatacal is getting harder and harder to keep going, I am running out of nothing to do and find myself doing things (gasp...the horrors)
