I'm so there... Car arrived at port Saturday and into the black hole of visibility! MINI OL shows my Clubman En Route, so that avenue is out. This is the limbo where ASK-MINI doesn't even know what's going on. I have to assume it's nearly ready to exit the VDC, certainly by tomorrow, and then a day up to my dealer. I'd call my MA, who undoubtedly has a clearer view into what's happening (should he so choose), but he told me that he would CALL ME. So, I'm doing my very best to be patient (ha!), to not obsess (really...), and to just let life flow as it should. The leased car is returned, the short term rental has begun, and I hope for a speedy delivery.

I feel a little sappy now.... What happens when we get our MINIs? We won't be posting in the Week 21 support group......Oh No! Are you going to still keep in touch with each other with our MINIs? Maybe we won't hear from each other as much because we will be motoring.....

Have you guys heard of this stuff: Zaino Brothers wax??? A coworker of mine came to me and said "most important subject with you new car - what wax are you going to use?" I told her either Mothers or Meguires! She looked at me with disgust and said go out and get Zaino Brothers because it is absolutely the best. Being detailed challenged. HELP!!!

Yep I am getting Zaino. It's been recommended to me as well. Don't know anything about it, but I'll figure it out.

Zaino, I've heard is great and a lot of the users in the detailing section like the Prima products for wax and polish too. Haven't decided which to use....

Check out the detailing threads, though you'll get a very pro-Zaino biased crowd. If you Google it, you come up with a more balanced view. It's a synthetic wax, and I have had bad experiences with acrylics, silicones, etc in the past. In the 80's, silicone-based "waxes" were all the rage, then they started to turn yellow years later. FWIW, I'm sticking with good ol' polish & wax. It may be old-fashioned, but it works.

On a hunch, I stopped by New County Mini of Hartford (CT) on my way out of work today (it's on the way home). I'd just planned on asking my MA (Bryan Hallahan) if he'd heard any word on my Clubman, as I knew it had landed this past Saturday. But, when he saw me he said "you must be psychic!" He went on to tell me that my car had arrived at the dealer a little earlier and he was getting ready to call me. The paperwork was out on his desk, sitting there. So out we went to the lot.

I got to look at it, sit in it for a few moments, and then stand outside admiring it for a little longer. Now, Zim still has to go through some final prep and then deal with all the extra registration crap because I live in MA, so I'll be driving it away either Friday afternoon or early Saturday morning.

I'm have to go over to the dealer at noon tomorrow to sign some paperwork, so I'll be sure to bring along a camera to snap a few pics of my clubbie pre-prep... Woo hoo!!!!!
