It was fun, for sure! There were BMW Z3's, too. All lined up nice and pretty with that white plastic stuff on the horizontal surfaces.

We were just talking about that.....actually it is suppose to be going to Charleston. Which doesn't make a lot of sense, because we are in Ohio. Baltimore is a lot closer....... Hoping that somehow there was a mistake and they took us off at Baltimore We were hoping to be motoring by next weekend

 

Midwest cars, including Ohio, get off at Charleston. Go figure...

I guess it might be due to how they have their distribution network for MINI? Sounds counterproductive to me...

Looks like the Elektra left earlier than scheduled. Supposed to have departed on the 8th but already left port on the 7th. Getting closer!

If you go to its company tracking site, you look at the voyage details. If the date is red, it has arrived or departed.

Well, the Independence II has left NY, so my MINI is decidedly on shore! Looking at the W&W site, I see it was discharged from the vessel at 4:43pm on 6/7!!! Now I'm just waiting for my MA to place that call to me! Woo hoo!

 

My guess is that there's a heavy concentration of buyers in the North-East and the NY port would be overwhelmed if they shipped to the MidWest from there. Trains, etc. get quite backed up in heavily populated areas (like Chicago, NY, etc.). So though you lose time on the ship, you'll probably make it up by getting on a fast train sooner.

At least this is my rationalization. My Clubman is on the Caribbean Highway at the moment, heading to Charleston for shipment to Chicago...

I stayed real busy this weekend. I wanted to distract myself - so I wouldn't think about my car - it didn't work. I detailed my element so it'll be ready when I trade it in.

As for MTTS - I'd love to go to the Miami stop but I will be leaving for Charlotte next Saturday for my son's high school graduation. His ceremony is actually on Sunday the 15th - Father's Day. I'm so stoked to see him graduate.

Wish I could do MTTS, but there isn't anywhere close by that I could attend after I get Lady G. Oh well, there will be plenty more motoring opportunities.
