Is your car on the Elektra? What port will yours go to?

 

My car is on the Elektra too. Port of destination is Brunswick,Ga

 

Winter Garden? Where abouts? I live on the north side up near lake apopka. We're probably going to pickup our cars around the same time. that's pretty cool...

 

Cool! I live Close to the Grove shopping center at 429. Larry at Downtown Mini put our order in. He is getting promoted to Business mgr/ Floor mgr.

 

Very cool. I live about 5-10 minutes from Fowler Grove. Love going to 5 Guys for a good burger.

Hey everyone! I guess I am in the right thread? I can't figure it out, LOL!

My production was bumped 3 weeks early, and here I am! Lady Godiva was born on 5/20 and completed yesterday 5/28. Now the dreaded wait for her trip across the pond!

Joep-No they said they do not have the shipping info, boat, ect. They only know that it left yesterday! Not a lot of info....

How did you find out your info and how long did it take to show up on W&W?


boredboy-Sounds like your rep wasn't very helpful, I agree that it makes a big difference on who you get on the phone! How did you hear about the K-line thing? That must be what the deal is because W&W still have nothing.......I was hoping to stalk my MINI before it comes in, but I guess I won't be able to! Where did you find the info on the Emden? I hope that is are are ship, but you do think it is too early for it? I have always heard 2 weeks, but maybe our MINI's are on an express ship!! That would be sweet!!

Our MA said the 3rd week in June for delivery!! Yeah!! My husband and I are also planning a road trip the week of the 4th! We are going to the Dragon!! We have to put those 1200 break-in miles on it somehow!! Keep us updated if you hear anything else!!

In tracking my car, I kept referring to the thread here in 1st Gear -

Last Friday, when I spoke with the people at ASK MINI, they told me that my car had been released to a carrier and it would be available within a day to be loaded onto a ship. This is when I started referring to items 4 and 5 in that thread. It helped a lot.

When on the WW site, I was able to use my VIN to find out where my car was. It actually told me that the car had been loaded. The site also told me (using the voyage detail) when the ship was leaving port. Once at sea I used the www.sailwx.info site. If you know the ships name (I wonder if your MA can tell you that info), this site maybe able to show you where your car is.

I have no idea. It's supposed to be in Brunswick on 6/10, but from what I'm hearing Brunswick hasn't been the swiftest distribution center. They're having a steep learning curve.

I hope you can find out where your car is. the waiting is so hard.

At the www.sailwx.info you can do a search on the ship's name and it may show up.

 

I found out about K-Line on another forum, it may have been a bimmer one, I can't remember. BMW uses the same system as ASKMINI and those threads have some good info as well. I went to th K-Line website and downloaded the schedule. The Emden seemed teh best choice based on what my MA told and when others said they set sail. I also checked the Charleston port website and it as the Emden arriving on June 7th. If you can get a Bill of Lading number we may be able to track it. I emailed them and they said that is the only way. The ship has not shown up on the sailfax site, but I think the ships provide the info themseleves only if they want to. Anyway if my guess is right and car gets here on the 7th I hope I have that next week. I want to break it in before the 4th! I am jealous of joep and the others on WW!

 

after they finished our mini it took two days to get to the port. At may 25, it took two days to load onto the elektra..

Excellent.... I know mine is going to stay in Brunswick a few extra days - they are going to install the driving lights and sport stripe on my car. Larry said that it was cheaper to have it done there then at the dealership.

 

I just received a note from my MA that my Mini is on the Emden due in about 6/9!

Is there a way to track it?

 

I was hoping that the www.sailwx.info site would have info on the Emden, but the last update was on 5/07/08. Sorry but I'd check it out to see if it gets updates.

I'm from Canada, this is my first post, I ordered my mini on April 1st, and can't exactly track it the way you do however I was in production last week or the week before, I believe and now its complete. I have the VIN number and I checked it out on ww.

My mini was booked with them on April 4th, and received at port on the 23rd, and loaded onto Elektra the 27th. However it says the port of destination is Halifax, NS. This is the part I'm just not sure about, I would guess the ship must stop at more than one port? since most of you are all in the States and also on the ship? I hope I've got the right information.

Can't wait for my mini to arrive!!!

 

Yes, Halifax appears to be the first stop in North America. Good to know that my MINI will have company when it gets there.

I just email my dealer to find out how long it takes to make the final journey from Halifax. Having just sold my Civic last night, I'm without a car, which in turn has amped up my excitement level. It's gonna be a long couple of weeks....

Boredboy - I think my Mini S is on the Emden too. My MA said that my Mini will be delivered the week of June 16th.

 

Glad to hear that the ship is confirmed. Me and a few others are on that boat. At least that was my best guess, but since your MA said by name now I am positive. Unfortunately there is no way to track that ship, I've tried. If your MA will get you a Bill of Lading number you may be able to at the K-Line website.

 

FlynG's MA actually told him his was on the Emden, so I think we are good to assume the same. I hope to have mine by the 16th as well. Where are you located?

My dealer said mid-June delivery. I guess it would be almost the same time for you.

This is my first car, so it'll be great to not borrow from my parents anymore!!
