15X8 ET36 or 15X7.5 ET42

All 33 pages today at work...Hope IT wasn't paying attention... My brain is now officially mush and I need a sanity check. 2005 R53 currently on stock suspension and R105's. It's my DD but only gets 300 miles per month including the 200 mile round trip to Hilo to autocross. I am thinking 15X8 6UL's (if I can find them) or Enkie PF01 ET35, either one with 225 45's. The plan also includes Megan coilovers. I am not a fan of the stretched tire so I am assuming that a 225 on a 203mm wheel shows a straight sidewall. I am however a fan of filling out the wheel opening as much as possible. Would this setup, assuming it works, need spacers to either clear inside bits or push the tire out to the wheel opening?

I really got a lot of enjoyment out of reading this thread. Any input for me is really appreciated.

Roy

ive been watching this thread for a while. Just to get straight on things:
A large offset:
smaller numbers eg.et15 ?
the larger the offset, the less the wheels will protrude and the less clearence you will get on the inside?

A small offset:
larger numbers eg.et45 ?
the smaller the offset, the more the wheels will protude and the more clearence you will get on the inside?

et25 + 5mm spacer = et20?

sorry for the noob question. where i am at the moment there's no one who i trust enough to give me accurate info on this. Everyone chooses their wheels on trial and error and dont know jack about offset and J size. Obviously im in the process of learning myself

You have more specs about this setup? like the offset Front and rear and the tire size..
I want to go 9 or 9.5 wide so it can be a reference, thanks!

I'm running 195/50/16 with 16x8 +20 wheels. I've rubbed the inner "fenders" till theres no material left though.

Would you care to send me a picture of yours? Did you have to run a lot of camber in the back?

I'm running 16x8 +20 F and 16x9 +15 R with 195 45 all the way around. 2 deg in the front and at the moment it's 3.5 in the rear, zero rub. I'm going to get a set of upper control arms to get the rear to fit a little better. I'm thinking about maybe switching out to 17 just to get rid of the wheel well gap. I drag the nose on everything so I really don't want to go lower. The front is lower now then in the pic.

Will I have to run camber on the front I didnt think I would have to...and how much stretch do you have with the 195?

I'm not sure to tell you the truth. I know R53s and R56s are different, that may come into play as far as your camber goes. Your ride hight will also come into play too. I'm still working on mine trying to figure out what I can get away with, I've only had wheels on the car for 3 weeks. I'm pretty sure I can bring mine back to 1.5 maybe 1.25. The back is a different animal do the the offset.

As far as the stretch goes that all depends on the brand of tires. My 195s are Michelin's are wide then the 205s I took off the car, comparing unmounted on both. I'll try to remember to take a picture tonight so you can see what they look like.

If you go to my build thread there should be some photos there for reference. I actually haven't gotten an alignment yet. I know I'm a bad.. just havent gotten around to it yet. But I do agree that you'd have to run more camber in the back than in the front. Also depends on if your lowered or not and how much are you lowered. The 205's I had on the car were rubbing alot worse than the 195's I ended up putting on.

I'll post some in a week or two. I have 16x8 RPF1's with meaty 225/50/16 Hankook Ventus V12's mounted on em. Getting an alignment to have em mounted in a few days.

Heres my mini, not as wide/flush as some of you guys, but since i finally had time to go out to do a real photoshoot of it, i might as well share it with you guys.

Wheels are Varrstoen V3 16x8 +25 all the way around

Tires are Yokohama S-Drive 195/45/16 F (front was too low the control arm and exhaust flex pipe would occasionally scrap speed bumps) 195/40/16 R

camber i believe Front was at -1.5 and Rear is at -3.0

Thanks for the reply.
Well I have those rims but here is the thing they only come in 5x114 bolt pattern that size just so happens that's what I have I used it on my wrx before.
So yeah did they redrill the hub or they use adaptors?
