Here is my R53 with Rota Grid V in 16x8, ET20 - 195/50 Tires.
Probably going to ditch these soon and go back to sticky tires and something closer to factory offset.
at this height I only rub under hard cornering if there is a bump and only in the front. Not very much though. There's basically one corner on my drive home that I hit at 80-90 every time and there is a dip mid corner, this is basically the only spot I rub anymore.
Also, I love how this is 8" roll call, and people are posting 9" and 7" wheels...

I'd buy your wheels in a heartbeat. My God, those are beautiful.
Awesome just the thread I've been looking for, will it work if I put a 8.25 on the front and 9" on the rear? Are the fenders that different on my R53?
I've got an R53 with an 8" front and 9" back lowered about 1.5" all around and they fit fine. Had to trim the inner lip on the plastic fender trim a little (nothing that shows) and get a little rub over really big bumps but nothing major. Just check the offsets obviously. You'll want to stretch the tyres a bit though if you want to keep them under the arches. Think I've got 205 on the front and 215 on the rear.
Hope that helps
Hey guys, I'm new to the Mini scene and just ordered a set of 16x8.5 +20 wheels. I had the stock MCS 17x7 wheels prior and am wondering what tires to get. Would you guys recommend 215/45/16 or 225/45/16? I am on stock suspension on a 2009 MCS.
Here's my wife's car. XXR 530 intense concave +20 16x8. She loves em. 215/50-16. Rubs in the back, but just ordered a camber kit to fix that. Not lowered, just the old rims in the trunk.

Nice, looks great! What camber kit will you be purchasing.
Still prefer the look of the Grids but that will change someday I'm sure.
I to prefer the look of the grids but didn't want to run as much camber as needed to run a meatier tire setup... One day I will get another set of grid's.
They are the 949Racing 15x9 6UL wheels with huge spacers. Not sure of the width exactly as my race shop did the fitment. It was necessary to cut the car and add flares.

Do you think that by rolling the metal under the plastic wheel arch (maybe less than 45º) it could be OK for no rubbing issues?
I'm running 16x8 +10 with rubbing on the rear zone of the rear wheels and I will be removing the plastic wheel arch, rolling the metal under it (all lip under the clips holes) and reinstalling the plastic.
Sure, I figured that, but considering that I have a R56 (R53 is on the picture) and my wheels are not the same, maybe you tried this (rolling the metal under the plastic) and then, you decided to cut it (because rolling was not enough, for example)
