I had a set of XXR 17x8.25 et22 on my 09 s you can see it on this page I also had eBach lowering springs on billstin b4 the wheels were right to the edge of arches the only time they ruled was when I hit a strong dip and it was to a minimum but I just went with 16x8 et33 and coilovers my car now is kinda slammed and still to the edge of my arch but the innermost.
I think after 4 sets of wheels in 4mo I found a right ET.

17 inch, 7 inches wide and 30 et will be flush with the fender flares. At stock height they will not rub the fenders.

At stock oem height you should still be good. It's when you lower the car that a higher offset will be needed.

Ok guys, I want some assistance...

I would like to get new wheels for my 2012 R55 Clubman, and I'd like to go 17x8. I'm looking at the TR Motorsports C4 which comes in a 17x8 +45. I would initially mount my stock 205/45-17 tires on them, and I'm currently running stock suspension. In the future, I'd like to go up to a 215/45-17 tire and convert the car to coilovers for a lower ride.

Will I have any clearance issues or concerns with this configuration?

I'm running 16x8 on 205/55.
I don't want them too streched.

I also want to see what the 195/55 looks like since I have some rubbing on the rear and this could be the solution.

Pics please?

I see some fitment experts here

how about that :

16x8 ET 33 on a R53, will it fit ? I don't want to mess with camber too much, but can do some.
and if ET33 is too easy to fit, what ET would be better between Et22 and Et 27 ?
Because I found wheels that a really like, and they can be machined to the desired ET between 22 and 27.

cheers guys !

The wheels you listed will fit fine and will appear flush with the arches. At 8" wide the tire will begin to extend beyond the arches with a 27et and definitely beyond and outside the arches at 22.

Pogea Racing XCut500 18x8 et27 running 215/35r18 with only slight rubbing in the rear over very severe elevation changes. conservative drop on NM springs (and the ride is buttery smooth to be honest)

Nice! I'm considering those in the gray color.

Any more pictures?

Where do they rub?

Sorry, I wasn't clear, they just barely don't rub. I feel like if I lowered my car I'd have to do some fender modifications. But at stock ride height, even with my bigger than an average bear self and a passenger onboard, taking turns at higher than suggested speeds I've had no rubbing.

Great thread all, thanks for the info.

So far as I can tell, an 18x8 will fit just fine, but it's the offset in question. Stock offset for my stock 17x7s on my R55 is 48. It _looks_ like I can get away with an 18x8 ET48 as well, with 225/35/18 tires and no interference with the suspension/fenders.

Can anyone verify this setup will fit fine with no rubbing (stock ride height) and/or if I lower it later on? I'm fine with camber adjustments to help the fitment later (plan on doing c/o's anyhow).

I've been using this fantastic site to calculate size possibilities:

https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?whe...cl=30mm&sr=0mm

Did you need the front spacers because of rubbing issues? If so, where were you rubbing in front?

What about the spacers in the rear? Again, just for looks or rubbing?

What size tire are you running on that setup?
