Roll call - 8"+ wide wheels

I thought it would be a good idea to make a thread for those of you who are running wheels with a width of 8 inches or more. Wide wheels isn't commonplace here on NAM and it can be challenging to find info if you're looking to go this route. I'm hoping we can create some sort of a database where one can find info on wide(r) wheel/tire setups.

So, if your running wide wheels, whether they are staggered or not, post all the specs and a pic of your ride.

For example:
Wheel/Model: BBS LM
Offset: 30
Wheel Size: 17x8, 17x9
Tire Size: 205/40/17, 215/40/17
Suspension: KW Coils dropped appx. 2"
Camber Settings: -1.5 F, -2.5 R
Rubbing: No
Pic: Insert Pic here

*NOTE* The above is purely made up for the sake of showing an example.

I'll start us off... Hopefully Rally will keep us going

*NOTE* This is off memory, I'll look into it when I'm not here at the office.

Wheel/Model: Keskin KT4
Offset: ET35 F, ET25 R
Wheel Size: 17x8, 17x9
Tire Size: 205/40/17, 215/40/17 (Bridgestone Potenza S-03)
Suspension: KW Coils dropped appx. 2.5"
Camber Settings: -? F, -? R
Rubbing: Cutting it close

Thanks for the post Rally. So no one else out here is running wide wheels and a nice drop? Tire stretch or poke isn't a necessity to be part of this. Just a wide wheel in general...

Anyone?

There are a few people out there running the 949 Racing 6UL in 15x8. The 949 website mentions a 15x10 coming soon.

here is a pic of my 15X8 949s. I have 225/50/15 RA1s on them... no rubbing in the front. To get the rear tucked in with no rubbing I needed to shorten the wheel base a bit by adjusting the rear factory toe adjustement and UPPER/LOWER control arms.
Car has KW coilovers lowered about 1".
Now it's a perfect fit

Above setup re-formatted.

Wheel/Model: 949 Racing 6UL
Offset: 36
Wheel Size: 15x8
Tire Size: 225/50/15
Suspension: KW Coilovers - Lowered appx. 1"
Camber Settings: F - Stock, R - Minor negative camber
Rubbing: None

Ok now we are finally starting to get somewhere. I'm sure there are more of you running wheels wider than 7.5 inches. Please chime in else this thread is worthless...

Yes, there is a SCCA DSP car running 15x10's and Hoosier 275/35/15 tires. Lots of cutting for this setup. I am sure somebody has pics out there....

Nope, aside from the person mentioned below. But he's running EXTREMELY low offsets and the wheels stick out INCHES past the fenders. A 10" wheel could MAYBE fit with an ET20 but then you'd have a good amount of poke on the fender side...

Minihune posted them, an electric blue MCS right? Looks terrible IMO, does it actually help at the autox?

Looks? Who cares about looks, wide wheels are all about going fast!:thumbsup:

But yes, from what I hear the 275 Hoosiers produce some pretty amazing levels of grip!

IMO, there's no point in going fast if you look like **** (in a DD at least). Wide wheels are all about LOOKing good. If speed is your thing, go for it, with MCS I'm more interesting in looks right now...

If I wanted fast and a good handling car I would've gotten a beater CRX stripped it, done suspension mods, sohc with built internals and boosted running 11s all day long and destroying most of the cars at the local auto-x. All for less than I've spent in mods on my MCS. BUT, at the end of the day it's still an old pos crx...

Back to wide wheels and looking good.

Rally your wheels are some hard SOBs to find. I started looking about and could barely find any. I found some, but they are all foreign.

yah...they're especially hard to find in good condition for our bolt pattern 4x100. Took me about a year to find some....and they were awful condition, but local which was awesome:thumbsup:

ChrisMCS04 11-15-2007 12:25 PM

If you do find any let me know. And keep me in mind when you get rid of yours if ever.

Contradictory? How...

Oh believe me I'm enjoying my MINI to the fullest, there's more than a couple 350Z, G35, GTi, SRT4, WRX, etc. owners that can vouch for that

Go low or go home! Hahah

Ca$per do you have any side shots available. (View down the side from front or rear.)

I am going to call on some 18x8 Giovanni rims that are missing the center caps tomorrow.

Thanks
