I am going to see what I can do with some 17x8.5 +20's this weekend.
I am running a 17x8 +15 currently and am tucking and flush with no rubbing.
Car has -4* of camber.
I have faith the x8.5 should be really flush and i should be able to tuck it under the flare still. As much as I want a x9, just seems like a hassle unless you went staggered.

Car is for sale, no reason not to enjoy it though while I have it.
I ended up selling my e30 project for a lot more than i paid for it. So looking for another project and in the meantime enjoying the mini while I have it.
Plus the infamous axle issues was finally pinpointed out.

Hey guys. I hate to get a little off topic but I need an opinion from people who obviously know more about this stuff than I do. I have read many many threads on NAM about wheels, offsets and spacers and have come to the conclusion that I'm just a simple man. So, if you will...
Facts: I want to install spacers solely for looks (to fill out the wheel wells). I DO understand that handling and bearings may be affected a little and accept that. I have already spent $13k+ these past two years and am not up to new wheels at this time. I have TSW springs with only a mild drop (inch or less) and will be installing Koni Sports on the 15th.
Question: Can I, with factory R119 16” 6-Star Twin Spoke Wheels (48mm offset) running 195/55 R16's, put 12mm front and 15mm rear spacers without rubbing?
Thank you for your superior knowledge and simple, easy to understand yes/no style answers. Remember, I'm older and math is not my friend.

disclaimer: I have posted a version of this question on another thread but the answers were a bit nebulous.

i was running a 15 mm spacer in the front and a 20 mm spacer in the rear with 17 inch wheels with 38 offset and the rear was rubbing very badly however my vehicle was lowered a lot with megan coilovers. so i would imagine with a mild drop in the suspension you will have no problems with rubbing or clearance

My winter wheel/tire setup is 195/55/16 on a 16x7 et40. Fit wise my winter setup should theoretically be almost identical to your wheels with 12mm spacers. I rub only when turning at full lock. I am lowered around 3" which would mean you should have much more clearance. However I have trimmed fenders and more camber then stock which gives me additional clearance.
My guess is you should be fine with the spacers. Unfortunately unless someone happens upon this thread that has run this exact setup (unlikely) you are not going to get a simple yes or no answer.

hey creeve. i take it you know BC's on a r56, i just installed mine a couple weeks ago and looking into new tires. im planning on lowering close to as low as they can go and trying to "fill up" the wheel well. i have 17x8.5 et32 wheels. i was thinking either 225/45 or 235/40. any thoughts?

I have a 17x8.5 +20 on my car and have like 5MM clearance between the wheel and strut, granted I am on JIC coils not sure its much different.
Also, I dont think either of those tire sizes working if you are trying to go low. I am on a 205.40.17 and decently low with quite a bit of front camber and I am almost rubbing. (My offset comes into play there though).
I would recommend a 205/40 maybe a 215.. maybe..

You have a 17x8/5 +32 mounted on the car currently? For some reason I feel like that offset is going to hit the coilover when you go to mount it or install the coils.

A 215/40 or 215/45 would definitely work. Thats what I would use.
225/45 (thats the size on the car in the picture you just posted) should be workable for clearance on the outside (with camber/trimmed arches) but there is the possibility you could rub on the coilover on the inside.
My guess is 235/40 will give you trouble inside and out.

they are works. i just checked the inner clearance and there's (like you said) a few mm of clearance but i definitely won't be able to pull a flush tire, still need some stretch to clear the coilover.
i will probably go with 215/45 because there is more selection. any recommendations around here on tires?
