I'm currently running 17x8.5, though just ordered some Enkie PF01 15x8s w/205/50 for a little cushion on the Boston area roads. They will be here by the weekend....
Here's my 2008 MCS. Only regret with these wheels is the offset. I wish I could trim about 3mm and tuck the wheels in just a bit more. Otherwise, love'em. Besides, a little stretch and poke never hurt anyone.

I'm actually looking at saving up for some BBS RS wheels or some old Corvette wheels:
I am getting coilovers very soon (H&R 1.5" drop is not anywhere near as low as I'd like to be). I am also buying some wheel spacers. I'd like to be somewhere around where the guy with the Vette wheels is. How many mm do you think would achieve this?
What considerations do I need with going very very low? Not quite as low as in this pic, but pretty d*** low.

coilovers, vmaxx and ksport go really low for a good price, im on vmaxx. my wheels are 8" et30 there pretty flush in the front but tuck a lil in the back, its all cause of camber. hope that helps

You can't really do a static drop that low on an r56. not on 16's anyway. On 17's you could get pretty close but you are still looking at over 4" of drop. At just over 6" of drop your subframe will be sitting on the ground.
