Who's your MA? My MCS also came through MINI of Mountian View.

Not that you asked me, but my MA was Mike (fairly new), but I've also been dealing with (i.e. bugging ) Jeff, Russ, and Ben. They're all great guys.

Ben is a nice guy. Jeff sort of flaked out on me. He was good with email, though.

Roger, nice guy. I just gave him a call and he said that they're installing the aero kit at the VDC... I hope they know it's the JCW kit and not the hyper sport kit. Anyways i've got it down on paper so no worries. So I think that's why OL hasn't updated just yet. Seems like I may be one of the last to pick up.

Maybe I should hit my head really hard hoping I'll get amnesia and not have to think about it so much. I haven't been this antsy since I was 10 waiting for some video game

EDIT: Unixgal's ETA is also only for arrival at the dealership, not picking up.
I see....I could not resist and call MA not long ago. She said she will call me when the car is here. Nothing more.

Will pay a visit and spy on their parking lot tomorrow to check.

FYI to all waiting to hear. My MA said that there is a daily report they can check that will show if a car has been released for transport. If it hasn't been released for transport, it hasn't left the VDC yet. Mine isn't on the report yet so he doesn't think it will be transported until Monday at the earliest since they don't deliver on the weekends. He's hopeful that I will have good news on Monday though.

If they're not checking that for you, ask them about it specifically.

Awesome. Sounds like you'll be the first of us from the Isolde to get their car (or the first to confirm). Great news.

Reverend Heat, Could you tell me where is your location?

My Ma said the car is in transit. What does it mean "in transit"? Going through custom, loading on the truck....I doubt it on it's way. What do you guys think?

I am in Sacramento. I beleive in transit means your mini is on the truck.

From my discussions with my MA, in transit means released from the VDC and is (or going to be) scheduled for pickup/delivery by the vehicle carrier.

My car did not need any additional things to be installed at the VDC. No stripes or flags...
My dealer is installing my roof rack monday morning, and I will be motoring monday evening.
May have to get call in sick on tuesday, I can feel a fever coming on.

So he wasn't able to confirm the ETA of 7/31 for it arriving at the dealership?

I really hope this is the case. Does the vehicle carrier delivery cars on weekend in S. California?

He said it "should" arrive by 7/31. He also mentioned to me a few days ago that it should arrive at the dealer same-day as it gets loaded on the truck (there are no dealers between the LA area and Mountain View so no intermediary stops).

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but waiting is still hard impatient:impatient

Should I expect the car will only be avaliable to pick up next week? So I can move on to do other things. It will be logical to think mine should arrive earlier....like today, don't you think? Since SF bay area folks are getting theirs Monday, and I am only about 2.5 hours drive from the port. This is brudal. Waiting my phone to be ring...waiting email from MA...

Practice your scratchy-voice sounds this weekend so you'll be in good form. Of course, if you've blabbed at the office like I have, it probably won't be believed.

Just take a PTO day!! If I didn't have meetings scheduled for Wed and Thurs, I probably would.

Don't wait for them to call you... bug them for answers. I'm usually not very pushy, but with my MINI, the pest in me is definitly coming out (not necessarily a bad thing either) . At least that way you won't be sitting by the phone wondering. Skip the email at this point.

**EDIT - I'm being insistent on information, but in a very friendly way.

Just stop by Creviear (Santa Ana) Mini, no new cars arrived. At least, not parking at the front. Their lot is not completely full.

Reverend, yours must have been the other car released to the Bay Area early. Congrats! I won't be able to pick mine up until Monday too since I'll be working this weekend. Grrr.

I'll be sure to post a few pics as soon as my baby comes home!

The way I see it...and this is just some chick logic here...MAs don't really sell MINIs. MINIs sell themselves. Each is destined to find its owner - one way or the other. Sooooo...what do MAs do, other than hand-hold owners-in-waiting, provide updates, serve as outlets for our excitement, frustration, and constant need for information.

If for no other reason, you should call them unmercifully, so that they at least do SOME work to earn their pay
