It should be about where the label is for the Alfonso on the free map. I've been toggling back and forth between the two maps to get a point of reference. That white background is annoying. If I zoom in enough to see any sort of details I lose the land/water colorations.
I'll stick with it though, unless my wife gets too pissed but I think she'll understand.
Thanks for tracking this guys! I'm trying my best not to log on to NAM and follow the progress, but I'm obviously failing at that . Damn!
FYI, the increased draught means she's sitting lower in the water, probably from the added fuel.
Yes, it is difficult. I wasn't expecting it to be moving and I got lucky and checked just as it started to move. It appears as if it right at the barrier point for entering the Canal. She is definitely starting her run through the Canal.
I just read on one of the various Canal websites that it takes 1.5 - 2 hours for a ship to make it through the Gatun Locks, regardless of the direction of travel. And it is getting dark there so the web cam sites won't yield a very usefull picture.
Actually she made a turn to the right and then came down towards the outer barrier, which she has now passed. She is about where the Indiana Clipper is on the free map except pointed in the opposite direction .

Thanks for the reference to the free map... it helps me get a better idea. Whoo Wooo... inside the barrier
She has turned back pointing West again and is just slightly North of the Sharon Sea on the free map. The Sharon Sea is anchored. Hmm...I wonder is she was just moving into the entrance area and will now have to wait again.
She is right in between the Sharon Sea and the Zim Livorno (they look much closer together than on the free map). The Isolde had slowed to 0.1 knots but is now at 0.2, I'm hoping she is just slowing down to manuever around the Sharon Sea and not getting ready to drop anchor. Now she's moving a little bit faster, she's up to 0.4 knots
The free map has the Isolde outside the barrier again
It's not. Supposedly the images there are at least an hour delayed. I've been trying to give references to positions on the free map to help visualize where it is at. The next update on the free map will probably have it with the turn completed and just outside of the barrier.
Thanks... I do know its delayed, just confusing myself with the picture in my head from the 'announcer' and what I see on AISLive
Man, I need a drink :impatient
That does sound rather good , it is still moving but I'm suspicous of the possibility of it anchoring, though it could just be moving around the Sharon Sea. It is currently moving at 0.2 knots but hasn't moved significantly on the map in several minutes.
I still suspect that she'll pass through the Canal tomorrow. I doubt she would have passed that outer barrier if there was going any significant delay. The next step is the Gatun Locks. I'll check off on the rest of this evening to see if she starts moving again.
