Hey buddies! Sorry to hear yours is delayed Unix I'm pretty sure you'll have yours by this weekend.

I called up my MA just to make sure they were installing the JCW kit and not the hypersport kit =). He said the kit should be in tomorrow and I should probably have mine by early next week.

Somethings been bugging me lately though. I really should have picked up the rear fog lights to fill in that spot on the switch and to add some color to the rear bumper... And I've been kicking myself for not choosing LSD. ARGH! Oh well. Next time I should be more thorough in my research.

Isn't it tonight already??? . I'm anxiously awaiting those pics. I'm very curious to see the seats. I ordered the punch leather as well. I haven't seen any pictures of it yet. Hopefully I won't be disappointed...

Oh, and congrats on taking delivery!!

Your floor gets dirty really fast.
They should have thrown in the floor mats...did they charge you any dealer prep fees?

I also talked with my MA late this afternoon. My MCSa hasn't arrived at the dealer yet, it has left the VDC and from his system it looks like it should arrive today. It will probably arrive after they've closed. If it arrives overnight or first thing tomorrow he still thinks I'll be able to take delivery on Friday considering I have very few dealer installed options. They do have a lot of vehicles that they are processing though....

I would if it wasn't a two hour drive one way. Actually, I take that back, no I wouldn't. I wouldn't be able to leave her behind .

So I'm definitely impressed by the overall fit and finish. One thing I did notice though, I was coming home from the dealer yesterday at about 70-75mph and every now and then I'd hit a pretty stiff headwind. Each time the headwind would hit, I'd get a loud whistle from the windshield. I had this same problem on my Subaru that was associated with the windshield sealant/mounting crap not applied evenly causing wind to whistle through. Do you think it could be the same? Or is this some message from the gods telling me to slow down?

Very nice James!! She's gorgeous!! What was your upholstery choice?

Oh, you also may want to edit your post to try and line the pics up vertically, it will make viewing them a bit easier.

If you have two pics side by side, you can click on the first one and then arrow over to the right. The cursor should now be between the two pics, click on enter and it will move the next pic down below the one you were just on.

EDIT: Thanks for adding the carriage returns after each pic, they are much easier to view now

Very nice pictures, I do so like the DS MINIs. You might want to check the seal on the windshield. I did not hear anything like that on scooter on my drive home. Of course, it was dark-30 and I was traveling on E470 tollway north at the barely legal break-in RPMs. You figure that one out.

Anyway, no noise but I don't have the sunroof or anything which might catch the wind to make noise. In fact, I have never noted a head-wind problem, must be the thin air here in Colorado.

I checked the OL again and the status is now "At Your MINI dealer".

Needless to say I'm expecting to be able to make an appointment tomorrow for picking her up on Friday. I'll be severely disappointed if I can't take delivery on Friday, my next opportunity would be next Wednesday due to my wife's work schedule.

Looks like somewhere in the vicinity of Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco.

MA called me today. My Mini will be at the dealer on Thursday. I can see him, but he still needs to get dressed up with the accessories.

Sorry about the pics not lining up, I put 'returns' after each one to space them out properly. Odd though, they seemed to line up just fine on my Powerbook, must be an Apple thing

These pictures are all taken just south of AT&T Park (SF's baseball stadium) in an area called China Basin. It's the river where the crazies go out in their kayaks to catch Barry Bond's home runs when they clear the right field wall. You can the exact spot on my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/1086157...131718627/map/

Oh yeah, talk about that burning smell! Emily was right, it's pretty pungent. My MA said it was mainly the shipping wax melting into the engine bay and burning off. They apparently coat the cars with a very thick layer of wax to protect the paint during shipping. The wax is then cleaned off after it arrives here in the states, but a whole lot of it still remains in the nooks and crannies under the hood. I might just pressure wash it off at one of those coin operated self-wash places.

Gary: the interior is the stock Leatherette with Oak Dash and MFSW
Rolando: my car was from East Bay Mini - no dealer markup !!!!!!

Thanks for the info James. I thought it was the leatherette but I wasn't sure

Maus is a beauty My wife saw the pics and said she didn't know their was an oak option or she would have wanted me to get that instead . It does look very nice.

Your Mini is great as well Emily!! The Chili Pepper Red is growing on me . Don't forget pics of the interior. Those of us still waiting can't help but to drool over every pic.

A couple of great Minis have been delivered here recently. Who's gonna be next?

Thanks for the compliment Gary!

The Oak was one of my "firm" choices, a must-have if you will. What I wasn't sure about was the Oak Wheel. I knew it was pulled from the option list for awhile, and for that matter is still not on the configurator, but I wasn't sure if I'd actually like it. It was a total leap-of-faith choice. So was the Leatherette. My dealer only had the Fabric and Leather to try out. The pictures online made the Leatherette's side bolsters look very light gray, but they turned out to be a nice dark gray. So dark you don't even notice the color change. It's too late to recommend it to any of you guys, but to anyone else reading...big thumbs up for the Leatherette!!
