R56 Isolde - Expected ETA 7/23 in Port Hueneme
Congrats Doe!!! I bet that last day was nerve wracking
I wouldn't feel bad about the rear fogs. I actually like it better without them..it looks less cluttered.
One thing I noticed, Gabe from over on MotoringFile.com says the the lower section of the rear valence around the exhaust was supposed to be flat black to match the fender flares and front airdam (see pic below). It looks like most of the Dealers as well as the VDC have just been painting them in the body color to make things easier. If you think it would look better in black, they're supposed to re-paint it for you. I like it either way personally
ps. Have fun trying to keep that thing leashed in during the break-in period

Thanks James! I feel better now not having purchased those rear fogs. Still, that open notch on the dash panel irks.
Yeah I'm diggin' the rear valence in black. I remember watching a youtube video on the JCW r56 and that black section is carbon fiber. Now that would have been sweet. I would have them repaint it black but the idea of giving her back for a couple days would be worse than the initial wait.
I try to stick to dense traffic so it forces me to keep it within break-in limits otherwise I'd go nuts with the sight of miles of open road.

It's been about a year since we've all gotten our MINIs. Hopefully everyone is still doing well and loving their rides. Tomorrow will be one year from the day I took delivery of mine. I didn't realize how much motoring I would doing my first year. My odometer is at 23933 miles, at the end of the day tomorrow it will be around 24500.
Cheers!
Cheers!
Today is Samwise's 1 year delivery date (and I know yours was yesterday Gary).
He's got nearly 20,000 miles of smiles on him today. I'm leaving for MITM3 tomorrow evening, so I'm guessing we'll be somewhere around 23,000 by the time I get back next Monday.
Thanks for reviving the thread Gary! I wonder if anyone else will chime-in?
