Today I installed my AP in my fJCW and after doing a few pulls I got the limp mode light. It still felt fine after driving a little. I turned off my car then back on and light was cleared. Any ideas? or thoughts? I'm on the road but if you know an answer for sure let me know aspa viva text 937-602-2425
Take it off, clear the codes and see if the fault recurs.
You need to get the codes read with a professional scan tool, report back with those and more help is available.
As of right now remove whatever the AP is and observe how the car drives.
AP as in accessport from cob and I'm running stage 1 with 92 Oct or better pump gas is 93 here. So the only time the car will go into limp mode is when I pull 15 pounds in boost and it only comes up on the tachometer so I clear the code ( p2885 ) shut the car off and she is golden drove 45 minutes fine. Parked then car for about 5 hours and drove home 45 minutes everything was fine until I did a pull and watched the boost and at 15 boom it came on. So I don't know if its just a program error and I will just have to clear it or what. The car runs fine and for sure pulls harder and seems louder maybe? Doesn't help I have 2 exhaust leakes and have no idea how to fix the first one is at the front where I bolt onto the turbo then the second at the end of the downpipe it doesn't fit flush and its like the downpipe is to short. Any thoughts or idea are helpful. I was thinking about taking my mini in for the hear sheild recall and see if they will tighten my downpipe by the turbo then idc about the other one as much.
I didn't know Cobb made an AP for MINI's. Did some research and I see Alta did in fact team up with Cobb to make a port, but now no longer offer it. Interesting!
Anyways, since the issue seems to have occurred once you installed the program then as suggested bring it all back to what it was before you installed it. See if that changes anything.
Yes, no more AP. I would take it off and scan it with a good scan tool. Sounds like that leak might be sending the code. I would like to see more stored faults in the system which our scanner can read. Good luck at the dealer hope they can figure it out.

Thanks, Nathan
After uninstalling the AP I still got the codes and still hit limp mode so I called mini set up an appointment. And this morning I try and do a pull 20-115 and nothing. It's like the car knows I'm taking her in for service and now is acting fine. Is there any way they can still see it doesn't work correctly even tho I can't get the code to come back up?

So, after you uninstalled and got the codes again, did you clear them? If you didn't clear the codes after the CEL came back then the code will be stored and the dealer will be able to read it. Most of the time the dealer will need to replicate the issue in order to determine what is going on. Otherwise, you may have to wait until it acts up again to bring it in.

Did you clear the old codes after the AP uninstall ?
I did clear the codes because driving on limp mode is so hard I can only pull 2 psi I think. I might try and reinstall Stage 1 and see if I get the code and uninstall and see what happens? should I install tune and unplug battery and see if the car sorts its self out with me trying to pull more boost?
Yes. Sorry did not read you have a leak at the DP, an you get that sealed with a new gasket ?
when I installed the downpipe yes but it has never fit right and I have been with out a garage for 5 months so doing any car work is hard for me right now but i hope mini and fix that i will pay for it. I'm having the Heat Sheild recall work done so i will see if they can tighten it or fix it for me because that was a B**** getting in and will never mess with that again until i go FMIC
Hopefully you not have a damaged stud or stripped out nut on the turbo to DP connection, it happens, those stud and nuts can seize with the amount of heat cycles there. My one stud did but lucky it cam out with a bit of work.

Honestly, you'll probably have better luck reinstalling and troubleshooting the issue with an independent MINI performance shop. I found a few HERE that you should look into. They'll have more experience with performance modification issues than a dealership.
I do have a leak by the turbo when the dp comes off would that cause anything?
How much of an exhaust leak? The downpipe gasket is failed on near every car I pull the downpipe off of. The only problem you would see there is an incorrect reading at the oxygen sensor which would give you a CEL and codes pertaining to the oxygen sensor, not a boost deviance.
What are the codes that you are getting to recur when you run the AP? Are they the same as before?
It sounds like you are running an incomplete tune (if the car checks out mechanically) that hasn't had all required parameters adjusted. Have you tried to contact the tuner and have them rewrite your tune to see if the problem goes away?
If the car runs fine without the AP installed then you have found your problem. The car is under deep observation by the DME, so if there was a problem with the car in any form it would pop up.
