I just checked the website, and I'm now loaded on the Don Quijote! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, as the WW website is already updated and I was loaded on the vessel less than two hours ago. I know there's a few of you who've been sitting at Southampton waiting on this boat much longer than me, but this last week has seemed endless. Any minute now the long journey to Cali will begin!

 

Reached status 152 this AM...finally a status change!

I'm guessing I'll be done on time and hopefully make the ship that leaves 9/30...but then it seems that the waiting gets worse for people when the car enters the black hole of the VPC...

Anyway, I had to share it with people who appreciate it when your car reaches the paint shop.

I was just gonna post that chris, yesterday it was at 30 W when I posted the info so it seems to be moving one line everyday and reporting at 12. Based on that I'm gonna guess and say it will be in Charleston dropping Andre off on Tuesday. We should start a pool and see who wins.

 

Can't stand the waiting. My MCS was finished on the 17th, booked on the Tai Shan, then unloaded. Apparently missed the Takasago and looks like it mite be booked on the Tosca for the 30th!! 13 LONG DAYS waiting, doesn't make any sense. Congrats to all who made their ship, enjoy the trip. I hope your mini has a very short trip home. Hey Ryan , i mite be crossing the ocean with you at this rate!

I've waited for the whole year, what's one more week right!? But this week sure is painful.......
Based on what September Club people reported, their MINIs arrived at their dealers right about one week after Tokyo Highway docked. One week would put it at.... today. Alas, no sign of the trucks yet.

Worse yet, in MA they can't issue temp plates, so I still have to wait for the certificate of origin before I can get insurance and get the car registered. I was hoping to be motoring by this weekend, but it doesn't look like it will happen..... I guess I will be in the October club after all......

 

Movin' right along. Sgt. Pepper is in assembly,
status 153. Production to be finished by the 26th.
After that, who knows? I just want the car by
the last week-end of October. Sooner would be
mighty fine.

Hey Katana, I got your back. I've been doing drive-by's on my home each night. The moment I see it behind their fences, you will know. I'm sure ours are sitting side-by-side eager to bite some asphalt.

 

So who do I believe? OL says my MINI is awaiting transport, ASK-MINI says it's at the port of exit in the UK, and the WW website says it's aboard the Tai Shan right now...I'm so confused...lol

 

OL is lowest on the list, next you trust the phone #, then you trust WW the most.

Think about it, why would WW have you listed as loaded on the ship if they didnt have you. WW will always be right in MOST cases (I say most because they cant be right all the time, but they are better than the other 2). I mean they have to have your car there to scan it and whatever they do to put it in the system. That's probably all a group of guys does is run around on the docks and ship scanning cars and writing where they are.

 

Called dealership today and my car did not arrive there yet. It arrived in NY on the Tosca a week ago, so I definitely had my hopes up. I even drove by the dealership when going to lunch, just hoping to see a car carrier out front :smile:

We're all in the same boat. Or off the same boat. Historically, saw one week between docking and delivery. It's now been a week. The dealer has told me that they typically get cars at the end of the month, so it's possible this is dependent more on trucking and VPC schedules.

Upside is that i've been told it's rarely over two weeks from getting off the boat. So I'm right where I was last week, hoping for delivery with in 7 days. Only now I'm pretty sure I'm right.

With all this talk about cars just leaving the Tosca, it's hard to believe that mine will be on it too, but that's what the W&W site says as of today. My car is booked for the Tosca's 9/30/03 departure from Southampton, arriving in NY on 10/9/03.

While it's about as soon as I hoped, why does that date seem so far away?

You had better get one post haste chris because once you get it you will be gone forever. I'm lucky I got one (and still have one) well before I ever found the MINI. She has stuck with me through all the infinate time spent reading the forums here and web browsing for MINI stuff. As a matter of fact I write this as I talk to her on the phone, it's hard to concentrate on both of these important subjects at once. She cant wait until I get it so I stop updating her on it's status. This probably doesnt make too much since sense Im trying to concentrate more on her.

 

MINI has changed me a lot.
I broke up with my gf right before i made up my mind of getting a mini. If i decided earlier we might not broke up! ops: yeah yeah whatever, my some type of excuse again.
anyway, no gf, good-freeman. but it does not means i have a me-and-mini life, still got more than enough so-call "friends" are waiting to see the MINI.

some of them even made a somekind of draw to decide who is gonna be the first female to sit in my car. -----without my permission.....

Hey Ryan, I just called ASK MINI and I'm still sitting at 150. I was told that it will probably roll into the body shop today... my EPD is this friday! So much for finishing up early. If all goes well and things run smoothly and quickly at the VPC, my MINI should be getting onto the ELEKTRA leaving on the 29th. I probably won't see her until the very last week of October... the ship is schedule to arrive on 10/24. This actually gives me some time to shop around for mods and insurance for my MINI.
