Thrillhouse go check WW to see if it was, the TAI SHAN has already left NY if I remember right. But to answer your question I would say yes, I see no point of it being dropped in SC when NY is closer. I think you knew, you just wanted some reassurance, just like we all do when it comes to our cars.
TAISHAN UPDATE - DESTINATIONS & TIMES
Just went into wal-wil. Here is the schedule:
Port Arrival Departure
Southampton 9/22
NYC 9/30 9/30
Baltimore 10/01 10/01
Charleston 10/03 10/03
All of this available at the Wal-wil site. Go there via 'Naming the Vessel'.
My LA Cop (just named it), jet blk/wht roof, will probably disembark at Baltimore because it was conceived at Mini-Towson near there.
Good sailing and mm (motoring miles) to all!

Latest on Sgt. Pepper is that he is being painted in
the paint shop. Can't remember what code that is.
Hope they do a nice job on him. My last Mini had
metallic paint but I am kinda looking forward to
not having metallic. It can look wetter with a good
wax job (Zaino). Anyone know where I can get a
set of chrome side vents with clear lenses that look
just like OEM except chrome? Also, if I end up with
only the clear lenses, is it a DIY job?

Katana, 866-ask-mini says it's 'in transit'. I don't know what this means, but I suspect it has left the VPC, and considering I live in NY area, it may be at the dealer as I'm typing this. I'll do a drive by tonight on my way home.

Hi rrypma,
866-ASK-MINI has said mine is 'in transit' for a couple of weeks now. I think all it means is that it has left the factory, on its way to the dealer.... Let us all know if your car gets to the dealership!

>>cosquilla - not one that I mind winning at this point
, but does BMW have a VPC in Baltimore?
Excuse me for jumping in; BMW does NOT have a VPC in Baltimore.
Therefore, no BMWs are off loaded in Baltimore.
Hope this helps!

Ok, thanks Katana. If they did have one in Baltimore I would have been mad that they didnt have one in Jacksonville (got mine from Tom Bush MINI in Jville where Andre will stay more than likely
)

I just received a bunch of accessories that I ordered from Classic. Since I don't have my car yet, I can only tell you my impressions with them sitting in my living room. I hope this info is still useful for you all.....
Floor mats - I got the rubber floor mats. I have never seen this mentioned anywhere, so I was really pleasantly surprised by this -- The MINI rubber mats are designed and manufactured by MacNeil/Cannon; they are the manufacturer of the expensive WeatherTech mats. The anchor piece for the front driver's mat actually says it is for WeatherTech mats. Since I have never seen WeatherTech mats for $58, I think MINI OEM rubber mats are a great deal.
Front mudflap - What!? Only $8.80!? That is cheaper than Honda mud flaps! It is quite refreshing to be paying so little for an OEM BMW part......
Euro shelf - many people have given their view on MCO; I can't comment much at this point because it doesn't really do much sitting on my sofa. The expensive rubber mat that goes onto the shelf was filthy when I got it. It looked like someone with a really oily finger rubbed all over it. I cleaned it with soap and now it looks perfect.
Boot box - I have read about the boot box "issue", but I still decided to try it out. It is a low shallower than I imagined based on pictures in the accessories handbook. When it is folded down, it is all held together with velcro. It would work well as a boot mat, even if you are not utilizing the compartments inside. I plan on stuffing my warning triangle between the boot box and the vent, so hopefully that would create enough space for the air to escape.
On a separate note, I have also received the GBO from GoMiniGo. Much heavier than I imagined.
I hope this is helpful when you guys are deciding which accessories to buy.

KatanaPilot - nice rundown on some of the after-buys. I ordered my rubber matts from the dealer (front only - do not really envision need for the rear ones).
I may now buy a few of the items you describe. BTW, my "buy" feelings are similar to yours - all about good deals on the cheap stuff

I was and am still torn between $200 and the Madness rear sway bar and the $400 (+ or -) front and rear set from H-sport, maybe I should go re-read everything on them, nothing better to do. I also am set on the alta intake. As for exhaust, that cost too much $s for a poor college student and his allowance. But when I return home this summer and get a job I'm set on the Magnaflow for now, all of the vid clips I've heard of each exhaust are different. The Magnaflow though has always had a consistent sound that I like with some burble on lift off throttle, where as the others have had a little rasp. The only other one that I would choose is the Scorpion, nice sound, but it doesnt make as much power as the Magnaflow. My decision might change though when other exhausts come out.
Ryephile, you remember what happened the first time and why you're here now, please be careful with your toys.
I've been browsing around tonight and seeing as we are all about to take delivery I searched the forums for break in procedures, I already knew them, I just wanted to see what the consensus was/is on whether you do it easy or hard. It seems that you take it easy on the brakes for the first 300 or so miles so the tires seat and the pads and rotors can get well aquainted (I knew all of that of course
, just passing it on for you benefit). But my main concern was the drivetrain. I see that most people were all about following MINIs procedure, but Punisher posted a link to an article and told what he did and backed it up with some evidence, which the article does as well. I'm not gonna explain it too you because this is required reading for you guys (non sexual reference) before you pick it up. Even if you're not a techie, intermediate techie (me
), or a professional, you will understand this because he shows you pics of what each method does. Anyways let me stop confusing you.

Me too. My MC was completed on the 18th, and the WW site shows that it got loaded onto the Tai Shan on the 22nd.... but the owners lounge and ASK MINI says that i'm still awaiting transport?! Who do I trust?!?!?!
Only 4 days from the factory to the ship seems a little optimistic, but I am sick of waiting!
>>According to MINI's Owners Lounge my car is still awaiting transport. But the WW site says that I am a sea. Interesting.
